A319 Fuel consumption

Recommended Posts

Guest vrandar

Overall I find that the fuel consumption mirrors real life quite closely where figures of about 2.1 tonnes per hour average across the whole flight are achieved (BA last year for the A319 fleet averaged 2060kg). I'm no expert on modifying this as I suspect the fule flow is buried deep in the air file.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

hellojust tested the fuel burn on a cyvr klas flight and in fact we add enough fuel to land without fuel starvation ....the real number and pss fuel burn are around 40% in defavor so this is not light and must consider it before flying ...if you want tell me any flight you want to do then i ll generate it and you ll report here the results ...and of course i ll add cushion to save all of us ...see youphil

Hi I fly the PSS 320 and at the beginning was having problems also.I was using a ZFW above max specs.Try to confirm that the zfw that you are using is correct and below maxFor me know works just right comparing the block with actual routes flown by our real sister airline clickair. Manu rodriguez

this my result ....try this flight and tell me your report when landing ... im below airbus standard about weights ....fcom is giving me for same weights and distance around 4672,5 kilos and 02.13 hours ....so my planner is more giving and pss is asking more than this again this is myu result with original fde ...!!!see you ACA0545 06.12.19 A320-214 M-214-1 KLASCYVR.001 SEQ002 RLS000 FUEL CALCULATION: ALL IN KG WEIGHT/FUEL BREAK DOWN: ALL IN TO BIAS 1000 ZFW 54,0 61,0 TAXI 200 TOF 10,3 18,7 CYVR 6578 02.04 TOW 64,3 73,5 RR20 1060 00.20 TIF 6,6 KSEA* 1588 00,39 FL100 LW 57,8 64,5 FR 1100 00.30 REM 3,7 CF 0 HF 0 AIRPORTS: ALL IN KG CYYJ* 1034 00,24 FL040 MIN 10526 03,33 ADD 0 ACT 10526 NOTES :- Route exeeds 105 per cent of GC !- CALCULATED 1ST ALTERNATE ONLY- BASED ON ZERO WIND CALCULATION- STOPS/EROPS NOT CALCULATEDRTE VIA : DCT-RBELL / DCT-RBELL / DCT-BIKKR / DCT-OAL / DCT-PAE / ACORD8-ACORD / (I08R-YVR)DIST 915 GCI 106 CP H000 ESAD 915 CRSM NCR FLIGHT PROFILE :OAL/F360 ************************************************************* !!! Don't forget all the different elements that need to be taken into account when doing your fuel planning. These are shown below together with my suggested figures/adjustments. If anyone wants a spreadsheet of this with all the relevant calculations please email me. Sorry it's all in kgs.Start with zero fuel then add:AIRCRAFT TYPEA319 add 0 kgA320 add 80 A321 add 160TRIP DISTANCEin nm, multiply this by 10 and add to aboveFLIGHT LEVELlook at chart below, find the line with your FL and multiply your current total by the relevant %FL Adjustment 0 140 0% 150 250 17% 260 310 27% 320 340 37% 350 410 41% ZFWadd the fuel in the right hand column below based on your ZFW.A319 41.0 44.9 900 45.0 49.9 1000 50.0+ 1100 A320 42.0 46.9 900 47.0 49.0 1000 49.1 58.2 1100 58.3+ 1200 A321 49.0 58.2 1000 58.3 62.7 1100 62.8 67.3 1200 67.4+ 1300TAXI TIMEAdd the number of minutes taxi time at departure to those at arrival and multiply the total by 13.5APU2.166 multiplied by the number of minutes you will run the APUDISTANCE TO ALTERNATEmultiply this distance by 10HOLDINGmultiply the num,ber of minutes you anticipate in the hold (usually 15) by 48.3CONTINGENCYApart from holds you might be vectored away from the airport for separation reasons or there might be other problems that lead to extra time in the air. Enter the minutes that this might take, 15 is normal except in the USA where 45 mins is mandated.Multiply the number of minutes by 15.RESERVEThe legal minimum fuel on board on landing is 726kg (in the UK).So as a minimum add 726.WIND SPEED AND WHETER TAIL OR HEADAdd or subtract fuel based on wheter you have an average tailwind or headwind en route(Activesky6.5 is good for this). The left two colums are the projected average. The right column is the amount to add in kgs in the case of headwind, subtract in the case of a tailwind.Headwind 0 4 0 5 13 50 14 21 100 22 29 150 30 37 200 38 45 250 45 53 300 54 61 350 62 69 400 70 77 450 78 85 500 86 93 550 94 101 600 Tailwind 0 3 0 4 10 -50 11 12 -100 13 19 -150 20 27 -200 28 35 -250 36 43 -300 44 51 -350 52 60 -400 61 67 -450 68 75 -500 76 83 -550 84 91 -600 92 99 -650TATThere is a chart in the Airbus hangar at Speedbirdonline to work this out but basically if your TAT in the cruise is between the two temps in the left hand columns add the amunt in the right hand column.TAT Adjustment 46 50 -49041 45 -44136 40 -39231 35 -34326 30 -29421 25 -24516 20 -19611 15 -1476 10 -980 5 -490 0 0-1 -5 49-6 -10 98-11 -15 147-16 -20 196-21 -25 245-26 -30 294-31 -35 343-36 -40 392-41 -45 441-46 -50 490Add all the different subtotals above to give you an overall total to load as block fuel.I usually aim to land with about 2.3 to 3 tonnes of fuel on board depending on what the alternate was.Cosat index will also play a part in fuel consumption but for ease I have not included it above or in the spreadsheet.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

Hi all,i am seeing the A319 as consuming too much fuel:Take off to FL370 : about 3 tons (my other B737 about 2 tons)Fuel flow at FL370: 1480KG per hour per Engine.Descent : about 440KG per hour per Engine.I see this too much...please confirm if I can fix some parameter or maybe re-download aircraft from PSS (maybe FDE's are updated) my last dwonload was a year ago (on purchase)Kenneth

helloif i follow your infos on airbus planning for a 915nm flight there s a big problem ....a320 will give a result of : 80 + 9150+ 3843 (42% dont know what do with if i substract it works better but not sure)+ 1100 = 14173 kgs TIF or 6487 kgs is substract done ...altn 150 nm : 1500 kgshold : 1449 kgs {icao and can rules 30min)cont : 300 kgs ( ICAO is 5% of tif or 30 min or 3% or 15 min if Enroute airport assigned i took 20 min) or your RESV 726 kgs in that case ???!!! resv 726 kgstaxi 270 kgs the results give me : 18 418 kgs .... or 10732 kgs ...the airbus fcom vol 2.05 for a quick planning chart is giving another number that i ll follow ...im soon a flight dispatcher fully licensed in canada and we feed all times comp with factory datas amended from specific results ....airbus gave 5267 kgs tif 1300 kgs altn 1150 kgs hold airbus mini given 0726 kgs cont yours ...total fuel 8443 kgs ... without taxi have a nice dayphil

pss has never updated the FDE ... this is why the 32X flies too 'nose up' at cruise and during approach (its an FS8 FDE). the fixes done to make the aircraft work in FS9 were mostly to the panel displays (if i remember discussion from so long ago correctly).some edits are recommended on this forum (the best i've use involves hacking the 'air' file). the 'simple' changes to cfg help, but cause the aircraft to be a bit 'slippery' in the air. ---
