A319/320 Install problems

Recommended Posts

I have downloaded and installed this package, but now have critical problems, in that FS9 will not run properly. When I boot up FS9, I get a window stating "The squawlbox module could not start because FSUIPC could not be initiallised.Ensure FSUIPC is properly intalled and restart FS9"I have the latest registered version of FSUIPC on my machine and prior to this installation had no problems with it. When I go to the select Aircraft option and click on MFR, and select Airbus from the drop down menu. The menu freezes and I cannot select anything ie model etc. When I first installed the A320/319 all appeared to work except for excessive mouse flicker, so I downloaded the patch and installed into the panel cfg for all the airbus models I have ie A320/319/330and340, dont know if this helps at all.Do I have to Uninstall this program and if so, how and what is the proper procedure to re-install correctly, or do I have to use Restore to get back to Status Quo?Help JohnT

Norman might have some thoughts on this but I suggest you uninstall the PSS Airbus from Start-> all programs -> phoenix simulation software -> Airbus Pro Series and then select Uninstall. Then reinstall using the installer from the website if you haven't kept the ABPro Base Setup file In my case it's in my c:downloads folder but it depends where you download files to. But when you are asked what to install don't install FSUIPC as you have a more recent version.Let me know if the re-install doesn't solve it.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

Rob,Here is a copy of a reply I sent to an EMail from Steve Cullen :-"Uninstall the A319/320Restore the CPU to yesterdays set-up.Checked FS9 was back to its original conditionRe-install the A319/320 after unchecking the FSUIPC & Navdat boxes. Re-installed the Livery'sChecked FS9 still worked.Re-installed the mouse fix.Checked FS9 still workedAttempted FS9 checkride, but here another problem has arisen, in that although I raise the landing gear and the panel shows the lever in the UP position, in spot view the gear is still extended. Any ideas?"The answer to the last question ie Gear Problem from Steve, was the MS Flat Battery bug.I have been trying the plane out to-day, but I am not out of the woods yet. Even though I have installed the Mouse Flicker patch, I am still suffering this problem and on AutoPilot the plane has a nasty habit of thinking it is a member of a Kamikazee squadron, and diving, after excessive yawing, straight into the ground. This happened from 5000ft, well ater everything was cleaned up, ie flaps etc.Regards JohnT

A quick response for the time being as it's almost 1am here on Scotland: are you starting with a default MS aircraft with avionics on and engines off as your default flight and then changing to the PSS Airbus? We have always recommended pilots do this but I can't see confirmation that you are. The answer from Steve re the gear problem is correct and is solved by starting in the way I have described. Hi Rob,The answer to youre question is YES :-), I am going through the fullrecommended Preamble. Cessna @ gate, no spot view, 2D Panel,Mags and main bats off, avionics on.Read in one of the threads that using FSUIPC and turning down wind responses helped, am also considering getting Active Sky in the hope that its weather engine is less aggresive, but wonder how that works with weather being set by Squawkbox. Is the A320 AP engine different to A330, I am talking control functions here, ie PI&D settings if you know what I mean?Incidentely this all started because BAV only use the A319/320 and I thought I may as well conform, how to spend 2-3 days time off.Regards JohnT

Re Activesky: definitely get it, it is a must-have addon in my view. Yes it does help with the wind spike reduction but FSUIPC is best for that. Between the two they certainly sort that issue. The gear issue IS the dead battery glitch but if it hasn't been fixed by the methods we have suggested I'll have to look for another solution during the day. One other thread is also reporting that the normal methods of clearing the dead battery glitch has not worked. It is curious. Not sure what you are referring to with PI&D. The autopilot on the A330 function in the same way as on the A320 family.Could you email me with your aircraft.cfg, .air file and panel.cfg and I will look through them and send you back any changes.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk
