A319 underpowered

Recommended Posts

Guest ktaliana

Hi Guys,I am noticing that the PSS A319 is a little bit underpowered, especially when in level flight at mach .78 and the winds change direction, the plane is unable to reach 0.78 again, many times the airplane slows so much that it goes in Alpha floor and eventually crashes from level flight.Imagine the frustration after some 4 hour flight. Is there any parameter in the CFG that increases the effectiveness of the engines. Also i note that the N! on ILS is always around 70%...this is too much and shows the lack of powerKenneth

I recommend you get the registered version of FSUIPC as you can smooth out the sudden wind shifts on the Winds page which will prevent the wind change problems you have experienced.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

Hi Ken,Can't answer the first part of your query as to why you cannot regain speed. However, as for 70% N1 on approach - tried it last night and with full flaps the N1 did settle to about 70%. I'm no expert, but I would expect the engines to be producing a lot of power to maintain the approach speed given the drag from the flaps. Could be talking nonsense, but maybe Rob can comment.Drew

Hi Drew,Thanks for trying it out.My brother is a real pilot with AirMalta, flying 319's and 320's...he says normally the N1 with full flap on ILS would be around 55% and that is why i am checking as maybe i have somKen

Happy New Year all, I am now back. I will have to check what I get on my next flight, but I think on approach I get about 50% dropping to about 24% on decelerating to landing speed. But I'll check later when I get a chance to do a flight.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk
