Hi!I was just wondering that what engine variants these Flight Dynamics are made for? Or are these some kind of use-it-in-anywhere Flight Dynamics?Good job anyway!

hi ... i have a question ... i installed your FD's and i'm trying to fly the tutorial miami to kennedy, but when i try to load up the plane( first class 12, business to 40, economy to 241, cargo to 49158, baggage to 30785 .. lbs units) i get very high ZFW(not required 392,4k) 412.3k/lbs ... is this right? or i should change something.. Tnx for the answers

>Hi!>>I was just wondering that what engine variants these Flight>Dynamics are made for? Or are these some kind of>use-it-in-anywhere Flight Dynamics?>>Good job anyway! The thrust curves I coded into my alternative FDE are not designed around any real-world engine variant...at least directly. I designed them to produce a realistic thrust profile when using the rather odd thrust schedule coded into the PSS A330/340 MCDU. When the thrust setting (EPR or N1 depending on the engine) is set by the PSS MCDU, the thrust produced is equivalent (approximately) to a r/w CF6-80 (A330) or CFM56-5C4 (A340) engine at the proper scheduled thrust setting for that pressure alt, temp, and mach number. In other words, the PSS power schedule gives you a GE/CFM thrust schedule.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300

Tnx for the answersI do not know how well the PSS or other loaders will work with these FDE. I do not use them, and I haven't tested them. When I want to change the ZFW, I do it the old fashioned way...by directly entering the station load data into the aircraft.cfg file weight_and_balance section. Perhaps there's some other user that has had some success with a loader program and my FDE who can help.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL GUlfstream II-III-IV-V L-300

hmm another question .. in 340-400 documentation the max takeoff weight is 597.5k/lbs ... so can someone tell me why the numbers turn red in pss load utility if u excede 392.7k/lbs? .. i mean u can still load quite a lot of fuel ...

Hi , Bob; I am using your last A330-340 FDE, and like it very much, but i want to ask you if 5 degrees nose up on approach is normal (325000 LBS for A330 and 350000 LBS for A340 on ZFW); and another thing is the "feeling " that the ac falls like a stone on the runway on landing. Thanks in advance.

I believe 3.5 to 4.5 degrees nose-up was the target range for an on-speed approach at flaps 3 or full, no-wind with a 3.0 deg glideslope. So 5 deg wouldn't be unthinkable with a 2.5 deg glideslope or a significant headwind (or both). As for falling like a stone, I don't see that. If the speed brakes are deployed rather than just armed, it might explain all this, though. Or if you've been in icing and MSFS has added ice weight to the bird...CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300

Hi Scott, I just want to know if your FDE can make accelerated simulation rates possible with the PSS A330/340 in FS2004 without the airplane bobbing up&down and eventually crashing? Even in 2X mode, they are unstable and I have seen an email from Norman to the effect that this is due to the non-standard code used with the PSS.Is your FDE stable at simulation rates of up to 8X?John

I think you'll find my FDE generally (but not perfectly) stable at accelerated sim rates to 4X...above that, you're on shaky ground. The closed feedback loops used in the autopilot code were not written to accomodate the much higher sim rates. You might have some success at high sim acceleration tweaking the control accel values in the PSS MCDU, but then you'll probably see pretty abrupt autopilot control at normal sim rates.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300

Thanks Bob,I had posted another thread for this, but you're right. Your FDE's are very stable but at 8x, the plane does move up and down, but only at a rate of about 300-400fpm and it never de-stabilizes nor crashes and FS2004 is stable too for extended flights so the acceleration is workable with your FDE. Do you get these slight "oscillations" too or is it just me? ANything I can change, perhaps in FSUIPC or the FDE to fix this without de-stabilizing the normal simulation rate with auto-pilot as you mentioned? Thanks so much for providing this FDE as the PSS one frankly is simply unacceptable by FS2004's standards. I mean, there has to be a way to do accelerated simulation in FS and all FDE's must comply with whatever code is necessar to enable this feature to run stably. Thanks again!John
