A319/320 Landing lights intensity

As the Airbus does not have Taxi lights, I find the landing lights too intense to make out taxiway markings and resort to looking out to the side in order to see where I am. Is there any way the glare can be reduced or better still taxi lights being added. I find it strange that the panel has an operating switch for taxi lights but in reality non exist.
