This is from the British Airways Airbus Flight Training Study Guide:"At VR rotate smoothly at 3 degrees per second towards a pitch attitude of 15 degrees then follow the flight director SRS pitch commandThe normal attitude of 15 degrees should be achieved in about 5 seconds"But adding to that I would say that in the PSS (or ifdg/PSS) you need to make sure you have set the pitch trim so that you hold V2+10 at 15 degrees. This is not always easy and you can find you either shoot through V2+10 or on the other hand you can risk a sharp dropoff in IAS. It requires a bit of practice to get the pitch trim and the attitude right. I could be wrong but I suspect you are shooting through V2+10 to a faster speed so that when you then engage the autopilot the computers command a sharp pitch up to bring the speed to back to V2+10. In extreme circumstances the pitch up can be so sharp that a stall becomes possible. On your initial climb out you should try to maintain V2+10, or as close to V2+10 as possible, using pitch and pitch trim. Usually I don't engage autopilot until after the LVR CLB indication comes up and don't need to alter the pitch.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

You don't retract your flaps at all at V2+10, it's too slow at that speed to do so. You remain at V2+10 until acceleration altitude when the LVR CLB flashes. Normal take-off flap setting is flap 1; if you do a flaps 1 take-off select flap zero as the aircraft accelerates through S speed (as shown on the speed tape on the PFD). If you do a flaps 2 or flaps 3 take-off select flap 1 at F speed and flap zero at S speed. This applies at whatever point you engage the autopilot.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk
