Would someone help some of us who are unfamiliar with the Gold debugging process explain exactly what it is and what is done during this stage of release.A walk through the process would be greatly appreciated.Randy

Basically when you say youve gone gold the product is considered release quality. Gold is usually the color of the master copy CD/DVD media that the rest of the retail copies will be pressed from.

Well youve still got to test it even if you thinks its finished. Last minute additions to the release version can cause havok. You dont want to send it off and then have something in it that causes a CTD for everyone.

Every aircraft released comes with bugs no program can be absolutely perfect unles PSS wants to spend decades on a single aircraft. There goal is simply to fix the major issues , the issues that absoutely must be fixed in order to achieve a quality product and the bugs that can be let go for the time being and patched , or bugs that simply are a fact of life and you will hardly ever notice.

Debugging = De-Bugging or fixing bugs, bugs can be anything from CTD's when pressing a button or the FMC won't do something its supposed to do, basically something that has been coded to do something but for some reason it either doesn't do it or at its worst does something else... ;)G-MIDY :-scatterAMD 3000+ | 6800XT | 1GB GeiL
