Problem with VNAV

Recommended Posts

I just took off EGLL on my way to KJFK. When departing, i did flap retraction on schedule except for the final flaps which i did too early. I went back to flaps 1 after the flaps were already up. This somehow triggered the VNAV into decent mode. The plane pitched down and started descending at 1200 fpm. At around 3000 ft, i hit FL CH to start climbing again. Now everytime i hit VNAV on the CDU, it goes to the descent page and I cant turn on VNAV on the autopilot. Any way I can get the CDU to switch back to climb mode without restarting the flight?

put your cruise altitide in the altidude box on the A/P and hit VS/FPA. it's not VNAV but atlesat you wont have to start over. BTW if you are on VATSIM, i'll see you on the way over,im BOS-LHR on nat x

I used FL CH mode and im currently at cruise at FL360 using NAT E. I guess we will cross each other although my path is farther north. It still sucks i cant use VNAV on this flight. It also took away my step climb indications although my legs page still show which waypoints i cross at FL360 and which i cross at FL400.Anyone can provide any idea how to get VNAV back into cruise mode from descent mode?
