Contact points ?

Thanks Stian,I can see the floating as much as you can in the screenshot but without knowing the state at the time (was it static / landing / taking off) then it *could* appear to be deliberate - ie the shot was taken with the aircraft in the air. This is further enforced when you see the pitch of the aircraft. So my question is simple:Was the aircraft static at this time or what was it doing?

>Was the aircraft static at this time or what was it doing?Well.. it looks like the aircraft is either taking off or just landed. Main gear are still on the ground but they're floating over the runway.I have the same problem, hope to see this fixed soon.

Norman,The same 'floating' issue was acknowledged by PSS in the RC1 release, and said to have been forwarded to the beta forum (paraphrase). The only reason I personally even (succinctly) pointed it out is because I therefore assumed it was a known minor issue that understandably slipped by in the crush. It happens even when the aircraft is static. In my case I have 'fixed' it with a slight mod. Surface contact now looks good to me at any weight, and I've noticed no ill effects, but admittedly other than gear points I know too little about contact point entries generally to even dare advise anybody else.regards,Markhttp://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/markrey/lsd2.jpgXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1GIG/X700pro256

Sorry but I'm still not seeing anything close to the picture of the Malaysian livery?I do exactly the following, load the 777-200LR, default settings for loadedit, full fuel, in spot view the wheels are nicely touching the groundAdjust the fuel load using the Setup panel to 50%, same thing, wheels are touching the groundRepeated same for the 200LRF and 300ER, no problemsSeveral other testers have tried the same procedures with no problemsJohnPSS SUPPORTsupport@phoenix-simulation.co.ukhttp://www.avsim.com/pss/phoenix.jpg

Mark,I do recall it in preview and to be honest, even then I saw my wheels firmly on the ground. *Inserts scratching of head type smiley*

>alas - in that case Norman - go figure :) Perhaps a reinstall>will help, just for the heck of it - I'd planned to do that>anyway (to see if it makes a difference in ils behaviour). It is exactly what John has already done and I am doing.

I'm seeing the same floating issue. Here's a temporary fix: Reduce the static_cg_height to 16.56 and make the following changes to the gear points in the contact_points section:point.0 = 1, 85.437, 0, -17.300, 1181.1, 0, 4.521, 65, 1, 2.5, 0.7235, 13, 14, 0, 270, 270point.1 = 1, -6.76, -20, -17.705, 1574.8, 1, 4.521, 8, 0.91, 2.5, 0.747, 13, 14, 2, 270, 270point.4 = 1, -6.76, 20, -17.705, 1574.8, 2, 4.521, 8, 0.91, 2.5, 0.747, 12.9, 13.9, 3, 270, 270It looks good at all weights on the ground...have not extensively tested it for proper gear animation at liftoff or touchdown, so there could be issues there. Let me know how it works.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

I don't understand...on arrival and departure? Do you mean during takeoff and landing roll?RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

I just did a couple takeoffs and landings with the modded contact point section in the 200LR, and the gear sat flat on the ground all the way through takeoff and landing rolls. It's hard to tell sometimes with a 2D pic, but on close inspection it looks to be OK to me.Also FWIW, the bogey tilt animation looks fine with the contact points tweaked.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile
