B777 ILS Landing.

Recommended Posts

In order to do an ILS landing, does the approach have to be configured in the FMC?I loaded the plane on the active runway at CYYZ, took off, climbed to 5000', enabled the AP, turned to enter the left downwind for R06L. I then loaded the FMC, went to the Nav/Rdo page and entered in the ILS (109.10) for the runway. Approx 14 DME I turned left base and then lined up for approx 45 degree entry to final. I pressed LOC, it then became armed but the plane never rolled to capture the localizer. When I did the tutorial with a properly programmed FMC the rwy at KLAX, the plane did capture the LOC and then I was able to arm and capture the APP, all followed with a successfull landing.ThanksMark

You have to set the ILS Freq. and heading on both Nav Radios in the NAV RAD page. set LOC before capturing and you have to be below the glideslope, you will never capture it being above it. 1 Dot above, Gear down, APP engaged and checklists to the line :D
