Actual shifts worked on 777LR long haul flights

What kind of hours are worked by the cockpit crews on really long haul flights, like 19 hours. I assume they have at least 2 crews to share the load.Ron

It's divided up. Singapore used 4 shifts on the EWR-SIN flight.The pilots who did the takeoff of the aircraft must be in command for landing.For the cruise portion, there's 2 shifts. In the 777, there's crew rest rooms which is over first class and sometimes business class.So basically the pilots who did the takeoff bring it to a cruise then the shift change occurs, then the pilots takes a long break or go to sleep. Then they need to be back in the flight deck for landing.The cruise pilots can't perform any landings.Similar note, on ETOPS aircrafts, an mechanic who did work on engine #1 can't do work on engine #2.
