I dont recall seeing were they said it would be out "for sure" by end of August. If bugs crop up, they crop up and will need to be addressed even if that means Sept or Oct.

Treat any release date given as 'we are hoping for' not a fixed date.Software is notoriously fickle, particualrly in the final testing stages.Only when they say it is released will it be actually released.

It takes 10% of the time to write the first 90% of the code, and takes 90% of the time to finish the rest... It will be done when it's finished.
