773-ER lateral control (X-wind landing)

Hello PSS,I have done some testing on patched LR&ER. LR seems to be very, very good indeed. Everything works as it should - great work fellows.773 then - still not possible to keep her on the runway when landing at severe X-wind >20knts. LR works nicely (as other quality addons) and stays under control but ER sweeps all over the place. Like on ice and exits towards the wind. Will this be fixed - a great addon is ruined unless you do something about this. Also have you adjusted cruise fuel flow - it used to be way too low.Anyway thanks for you hard efforts to be on par with LDS and PMDG, I believe LR is there and ER can be easily fixed...Best Rgs Perttu

HelloI posted about the same general problem of Rudder control not being adequate when flying manually. This was with the 777LR. If you do a simple take off and do a circuit for an ILS approach, and bring up the FCTL screen on the lower EICAS and watch the amout of rudder it takes to keep the Trim indicator centered, and It is almost full rudder, and on landing it definitely vaned into the wind and slid from side to side like it was on Ice. I increased the rudder effectiveness to 2.5 and that helped alot, except that the Autopilot couldn't even maintain a coordinated turn. The auto land did fine on touchdown and didn't skid. I think there is a problem with the Rudder system that appears the same as it has always been. Other than that I can't find any other problems. Beautiful job by PSS in bringing this bird up to par.I hope they look into this phenomonen with the 777. The 757 dosen't exibit this behavior and neither does the other 2 well known Boeings.Gary

Hello PSS,Could you pls comment on this issue. To me it seems like an issue that needs to be fixed... Not right now considering your past effort but please acknowledge the issue and let us know it will be addressed. Hello Guys (PSS),Can you pls comment on the issue.LR works very well, also with x-winds. And so do my other high end addons.Now ER does not. Not even after the patch 2. Am I doing something wrong here (which I dont think is the case)? I have tried pritty much everything with no success. I find it very disapointing since ER is by far most exciting machine on the package. I have done further testing and ER flies ok with no winds but with X-wind component it really does not work at all I am alfrait. Lateral control is very, very bad...I would highly appreciate your comment!!! Also if someone manages to fly (actually control the ac) ER on >15 knt xwinds I would be happy to hear.Best Rgs Perttu

Do you want me to email you about this issue?Also if this problem is only affecting me could you kindly tell me what to do about it? Reinstall? Reinstall the update? Perttu,I need to confirm that you have the correct files for the ER - could you let me know the size and date of the ER's air file. It might also help if you post a copy of the aircraft.cfg so that I can check whether it is exactly the same as mine.John Rooum

Perttu,Thanks - I guessed that was the case. But, I understand that JF get exactly the same files that PSS publish. So could you check that you have the latest update from Just Flight.In the meantime, whilst I have not got your version of the air file, I will see if I can have a look at whether your aircraft.cfg makes a difference.John

Hi, I have this problem too, it's very difficult to maintain the plane (777-300ER)on the runway when there is cross wind. With the other plane all is fine (777LR...). I buy this plane at just flights and do the 2 updates on the site of just flight and now my air file is PSSB773ER-GE, 10 kt, dated 05112005 14:32, I see it's not the same as you...There is a problem here.Which is the good one?Thanks Christian

PerttuI suggest that, firstly, you post on the JF forum to ask if anyone else has the same problem with the ER. This at least could indicate whether your problem is limited to your system or more widely seen.John Rooum
