VNAV speeds not restricted below 10,000 feet

On the VNAV CLB page there is an entry Speed Transition filled in automatically with 250/10000.This refers to 250 knots below 10,000 feet.Given this why does the CDU automatically calculate speeds at waypoints below 10,000 feet at 311 knots, and not obey the restriction of 250 knots?Greg

Just a guess - check your speed restriction altitude setting in the CDU.Jim Harnes
