In celebration of aviation's centennial year Project XP-38N is modeling all major variants of the Lockheed P-38 Lightning. After the successful release of the XP-38 (for FS2002, released Dec 2002), Project XP-38N is now pleased to announce "P-38 Triple Play" -- a freeware package that includes three historical 'early Lightnings' for virtual aviators. The package is vailable for FS2002 and CFS2 from the AVSIM file library. The Planes- P-38F-1-LO "Glacier Girl" (originally part of operation BOLERO, recovered from Greenland and recently restored to flying condition)- P-38G-13-LO "Miss Virginia" (the plane Lt. Rex Barber (347th FG) flew on the famous "Yamamoto Mission")- P-38H-5-LO tail number 267027 (Lt. Gerald Brown (55th FG) once returned from a mission with over 100 bullet holes in this plane!)Features- Visual models built entirely in FSDS2 (compiled in ver. 2.1) - Animated control surfaces, landing gear, wheels, gear suspension, cooling vents, canopy, boarding ladder, landing lights, yoke, engine and propeller levers, flap lever, etc. - Metalic textures and so-called 'dynamic shine' (specular reflection) - Textures incorporate selected photo-realistic images from real P-38s (from digital photographs) - All new, actual P-38 engine/propeller sounds recorded from the real Glacier Girl - Realistic flight model, zero-net torque due to counter-rotating propellers - Dynamic virtual cockpit, animated levers, control columns, etc.- The FS2002 models features some newer modern equipment for a full virtual flight experience (GPS, autopilot, nav and landing lights, etc.) - FS2002 models include 2 models per variant, one with external fuel tanks and one without - FS2002 package contains some 'extras' to help re-create Glacier Girl's historic return to the skies- The CFS2 models have breaking parts, damage effects, and a sighted VC gunsightFor more details and lots of screen shots, see the my Project XP-38N website at www.kazoku.org/xp-38nEnjoy!- dcc
