Manually adding Airports

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to add the new Bangkok VTBS airport to the 777LR by editing the pssapt.dat and pssrwy.dat in the NavData folder. I'm pretty sure I have done it correctly, in the correct format, yet when I go to plug VTBS in the FMC it inevitably comes back as NOT IN DATABASE. Below are the lines I added;to pssapt.dat:VTBS 13.687222 100.759444 5 ;Suvarnabhumito pssrwy.dat:VTBS 01L 13.671341 100.734611 015 03700 109.10 015VTBS 01R 13.656962 100.751475 015 03700 110.10 015VTBS 19L 13.691404 100.760633 195 03700 110.50 195VTBS 19R 13.702699 100.742955 195 03700 109.50 195Is there anything else I'm supposed to do? Thanks...- daniel

You could download the PSS 0611 cycle - the airport is in there. Only thing is I cannot remember whether it was in the airac downloaded when I reinstalled the 777 and 757 last week or whether it came from Navigraph. The numbers I have are not exactly the same as yours but near enough and there is nothing more there.Check the spelling of Suvarnabhumi - I have it as BANGKOK/SUVARNABUMI

Thanks again.Im really sorry to dig up an old post but i thought i would just say something for anyone also trying to do this (as i was today). Although this has probably been said elsewhere, this post shows up on the 'VTBS' searchThe Nav Database needs to be an Alphabetical order. I added the above right under VTBT and it all works fine with ARAIC 0608.
