IAP's and tip

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,Just trying to get going with the new version. Good job.I can't remember for the life of me where I can find the IAP's for the FMC data.I've installed the latest version of the last free navdata, everything's there, but I remember somewhere the IAP's might have been seperate somewhere.TIP: For those having issues with memory leaks on ALL addons and possible Vnav issues, etc., should download the very latest FSUIPC from Pete.Thanks.

Better yet, if someone could kindly just send me their PSS navdata folder I'd greatly appreciate it. :-)

Jeff, Have you tried Terry's site at www.planepath.com for sid/star for the PSS?...granted it will only have USA data and might not match the older airac data, but it's the only other site that I know of.Oh, I'll send you my folder if you have one on your computer labeled "Addon Scenery/KSTL" you will send to me. :-)Steve Park

Yes, tried them all and still no luck.I noticed the RWY data is there just no IAP's.A few other findings that maybe will help out also.Just noticed that the ILS doesn't auto tune and the above/below function of the TCAS is INOP as in the switches do not physically move.Sorry no luck with STL...we never made it past basic models.

Jeff, Think you hit upon something here...I just checked and my payware airac from www.Navigraph.com with procedures for the PSS birds do not have any IAP's associated with the SID's and STAR's, just runway's. I checked my PMDG birds, which I get the airac data from www.Navigraph.com and the procedures from www.planepath.com for the US only, since Navigraph.com does not include them yet. They DO have IAP's. So I loaded the PSS with the www.Planpath.com data and same airport's (KLAX and KSAN) do NOT have any IAP's...same with the Level D and Flight One bird. My guess is that either: 1)the data providers, Terry and Richard, do not compile the IAP's for the PSS or 2)they can't for some reason. But anyway, my navdata folder would do you no good...don't think anyone has IAP's unless they wrote them. Suggest that you post in their forum's to find out why?Steve Park

It has to do with the developer of the a/c and how they've programmed their FMC gauge and interfaced their d-base behind it (in laymans terms), not the makers/compilers of the NavData for the most part. There's actually alot of other parts to NavData that most FS developers never even see or touch such as airspace boundaries, etc., etc., etc. Most XML 'mostly' birds are this way with very few execptions for some reason. On a good note though, the VNav function seems to work just fine now.

>On a good note though, the VNav function seems to work just>fine now.Huh...mine is a "Little" better, not much. On the couple of flight's I have had, it seem's to act just as before...initial high rate of descend, in the 4000+fpm range, then settles down to 2500fpm. At the first waypoint after T/D, aircraft levels off and descent index in the ND show aircraft 1500-2000 feet low. The closer the waypoint's in the descent track are, the crazier the roller coaster ride you get.Steve

I think you can 'fudge' approaches by using STARS to the FAF (final Approach Fix) and making the STAR runway-specific.If you need these to connect with true STARS you may need to have these as Transitions.
