Recommended Posts

Hello all,When I tried to install the new 757 v1.2 I get the error: "> No internet connection could be found".Support gave a few tips, but none have worked.Anyone had this problem and managed to solve it? I disabled anti-virus and firewall but still nothing.

Oliver,I have just done a test run and could download the 757 from PSS with no problems. However, I believe that we have seen this problem before but I need to do some checking - I will try and get back to you later this evening.John

Oliver,Some hints from an earlier response to this problem:Close all firewalls and virus checkers***Clear any temp files created by the install***If using winXP Make sure you admin. privileges assignedand in Explorer Tools- Folder Options-OFF-LINE FILES make sure that is activAlso if on WinXP make sure you are logged in with administrative priviligesAlso in the IE settings make sure "use proxy server for connection on" is switched off! Also shut down any programs like Norton or System Suites.***In my experience the most important thing is to ensure that all references to the old set up.exe are removed from windows:Delete the IE cache, IE history, all temp internet files etc etcPost back if this fails.John Rooum

Hello,Thanks for your reply. Can you indicate where I can find any temp files created by the install"? I cleared everything in C:/Temp and and C:/Windows/Temp but it still doesn't work.I'm really puzzled at this point, it worked before, and now no PSS installer can get through, since I installed initially I upgraded from ISDN to ADSL, maybe this is the problem? The internet goes via wireless to a router, shall I change something on that?Help is appreciated as allways

Oliver1. Just to check you have cleared everything out, on IE go "Tools" - "Internet Options" and under Temporary Internet Files "Delete Files" and "Delete Cookies"2. "I'm really puzzled at this point, it worked before, and now no PSS installer can get through, since I installed initially I upgraded from ISDN to ADSL, maybe this is the problem? The internet goes via wireless to a router, shall I change something on that?"Are you saying that before you installed the wireless network, you could connect to PSS without this error??John Rooum

When I first downloaded the PSS AB Pro, I couldn't and so a support member sent me the files to move to the FS folder, then when I downloaded the PSS 757 v1 when I had my old internet it worked fine and installed without probs, now with V1.2 and new internet it doesn't work.

Oliver,I doubt that it is anything to do with the change from V1 to V1.2.If I try to download the 757 with my internet disconnected, I get exactly the same error. I do not use a wireless connection but I suggest that something in your router/modem set up is not recognising the PSS set up programme's "request" to connect to the internet. When you install the router, are there any settings that might affect the connection? It might also be worth looking at one of the forums/helprooms that specialise in PC and wireless network problems [i'll also have alook here in the UK].Good LuckJohn
