Possible 757 engine variant typo?

Recommended Posts

Guest Nickman

Hi all.First of all, I'd like to praise PSS for making such a detailed and high quality 757 aircraft as it is the best payware and most realistically modelled 757 I've found. However, I do have a small question regarding the engine variant report on the FMC. When setting up my pre-flight on the IDENT page in the FMC, I noticed that the engine model is reporting as "RB211-525E4." But what confused is me is that, to my knowledge, Rolls-Royce never made a -525E4 variant, but rather the -535E4 variant (which is used in most 757s today) and the -524 variant (which is used in 747s). This shows up for both the 757-200 and -300. Could this be a possible typo? If I'm wrong about this, please correct me. I don't mean to sound overcritical, I've just wondered about this for some time.-NickContinental Airlines Virtual Pilot
