PSS B772LR - Radio Dead

The Radio Comm. is not working i.e. I am unable to set frequencies? The WXR system is working fine (Bottom half of Radio stack). I fly Online most of the time, so a working radio is a requirement.Any help would be appreciated. Otherwise the T7 is great.Ken

I found that the problem happens if you turn off the Cessna Battery switches as well as the engines, before loading the PSS B772LR. Not sure why this is....- if I had turned off the Avionics, then yes.Anyway it's working fine now.Ken

Ken, in common with many other 3rd party aircraft we have always strongly recommended that your FS session starts with a default MS aircraft with engines off but avionics on saved as the default flight. You can then change to your PSS aircraft which can be cold and dark if you wish.The reason for ths is to overcome the known MS "dead battery glitch" which causes the sort of problems you experienced if you jump straight in to the PSS aircraft. It is all to do with state variables and what is loaded with the default saved flight. Hi Rob, I have always used the Default Cessna situation (used to be Meigs Airport), shutdown the engine, turned off the batteries; have used that procedure since the PSS Airbus Series (I morn it's passing every day!) back in May 2002 (or was it 2003?) - no problems, until the PSS 772LR.But from what you say about the 'dead battery glitch' I can see that turning off the batteries was a wrong move, for a sensitive aircraft.Thank you for your help.KenBAW88

And why are you in mourning for the Airbus series? Hi John,Thanks for your reply. In fact I do have the PSS B772LR, I'm flying it as I write, from Esenboga, Turkey to Heathrow - the more I fly it the better I like it. But the PSS Airbus was/is my first serious aircraft, I was among the first to purchase in April 2002 - and we were told then about starting from the Default Flight; though some people vary that. I start the PSS B772LR from the Fs9 Default Cessna situation - but it is necessary for me to shutdown it's engine before changing to the T7 - reason is at BAV we have a Flight Monitor that requires "Brakes on, Engines off" otherwise it will not record the flight. My system is working fine now. I appreciate your help.ken

Ken,Good news but, as a matter of interest, why not use the PSS "cold and dark" set up? This allows you to go through the full start up procedure without having to first bring up the default aircraft, shut it down and then change to the 777.Or perhaps this is something unique to BAV?Just interested as I do not fly BAV {yet}.RegardsJohn Rooum

Well, of course, BAV is unique, it is the best VA in the World :)When I mentioned the Flight Monitor I should have added that it is used for Online Flying - nowadays I don't fly offline; except when I use the Cessna to 'check' a new destination Airport.PSS Cold and Dark, I can't get that to work...I 'Tick' it the T7 Setup, but nothing happens. Perhaps I'm missing something?Cold and Dark, that was an error, I have 'Engines Off' ticked.Ken

Ken,Tick C&D in the 777 set up panel. Close FS9. Now whenever you load the 777, it will start C&D. QEDJohn R

Ken, for the default flight you don't have to have engines on, just avionics on. I have avionics on, engines off in the Boeing 737 but have never ever flown it. I then switch to the cold and dark Airbus or the PSS Boeing. 'My cup doth brimeth over' :)John, I tried that, I found I had to start with Create a Flight and work up, then C @ D worked; I'll see if it works If I then Save that Flight.I note you start with the Default? B734 Rob. I never thought about that - just shutdown the engines, then load the T7. I'll give that a go as well.Thank you, gentlemen for your help, I'll report back.Ken

I've found that both methods work fine. I'll try Saving a start up situation to see if that works.The side effect of a Topic like this is that it may helps others as well.Ken
