757 2006 Navigation Display

Recommended Posts

Guest sssspecialista

Hi, I have been searching but I have found no similar topic. The problem happens to me with 777 too. I make a route and it is displayed on the ND. Everything normal at this point. But when I have been flying for a few hours the ND becomes crazy and the route is displayed bad. I introduce a fix and it is located where it should not be. So if I want to make an approach I have to handle it manually because I cannot trust the system. As you can see there is the white line of the rwy and the fixes should be on that line. That is KJFK rwy 31R. It always happens to me with long flights. The system has completely gone. Thanks in advance

Hi - please sign your name as per forum guidlines.I have just flown this approach into 31R - are you sure that you have the correct runway selected?1. The "white line" is aligned 180 deghrees out as though you had RW 13 selected. The approach fixes should not be on that line.2. There is no CF31R fix shown - this should be at 8 nm on the centreline - before fix ZULAB and 1nm after MALDE. There is no need for another fix after then CF31R so until you are more confident, I would forget ZULAB on this approach.Suggest you have another look how you input your flight plan into the FMC.If this does not solve things please post back.John Rooum

The approach is for rwy 31R at KJFK, not for rwy 13L/R. The problem is that when I have been flying for some hours the navigation system becomes crazy. At the picture, the point should be aligned with the white centerline. And it is not.RegardsAlvaro Duran

Alvaro,Apologies - looked again and the white dotted line should be there. But on a normal approach it is hidden by the magenta line etc. However, you still have no CF point which is automatically inserted when you select the arrival runway?Let me know your route and I wil try and reproduce later today.john R

Here it isLEMD-KJFK (KEWR)ZMR UN733 STG UN725 MUDOS DCT 4523N 4633N 4643N 4553N 4363N DCT PLYMMBut as I said the problem comes when I make long haul flights. Then, after some hours, the magenta line of the route moves and all become strange suddenly. With 777 it happens to me too. With short flights doesn't by the moment and I have no problems.Thank youAlvaro DuranPD: the feeling is how the IRS system comes crazy and everything is moved some degrees. And it is like the compass moves some degrees too. So...Take a look at this too

Alvaro,Thanks for the route. I have now flown it in real time and, whilst your screen shots clearly show a very odd situation, I could not reproduce it. Of your systems, the AP seemed to be operating correctly and your compass indications were the same as mine. So, as it happens with both 777 and 757, I recommend that you first investigate the PSS Navdata which is common to both - its in the FS9/PSS/NavData folder and you might have a corrupt file. You can either delete this folder entirely and then re-install via the PSS web site or update it from the Navigraph web site. This requires a small fee but is well worth it.Good LuckJohn

It has become stupid againThe white line magenta line should be over the white one. I was in cruise, leveled, no turn and the wind does not have any influence (as I said the magenta line should be over the white one, although the nose should be facing other direction due to the wind)Take a look

I forgot to say that it has happened after 8 hours using the planeLEMD-DNMM-LEMD, in this last flight almost in LECB CTR is when this has happened. The ting is that at the moment of overflying the fix in the navigation display the FIX/VOR/NDB is overflown but when I pass it the route get step sided.

Alvaro,I am flying the 757 at the moment. Looking at your last screenshot - the hdg is correct with that wind but I agree that the solid white line and the magenta line should coincide but only IF you are on the correct ground track. They can be slightly offset if the aircraft has deviated from the correct ground track for some reason. However this does not explain the deterioration in nav tracking over time. What other add-ons are you running along with the 757?John R

Interesting. Let me know how you get on. By the way, I assume that you have no add-on weather programme?John R

I have reinstalled 777 and the fonts like I saw in other topic. I use Active Sky 6. But this issue happened when I used IVAO network metar too. When I have time I will try a long flight. It is when I fly over 7-8 hours when this issue happens. When I check this, I will tell you. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

A couple of things:How did you know that particular font was corrupt?I recommend that you do the next flight off line and without Active Sky. Just use the default FS9 weather.John R

In another post about ND it is said: delete baloo and irs fonts and then reinstall them...I tried to do that only to try but, when I was going to make a backup of them, the IRS font told me that it could not be read from the destination file.I erased them and run the installer and all became to normality.I will try what you say and I will tell youRegards
