*Evidence of Flight Screenshot Tutorial With Pics

Evidence of Flight Screenshot Tutorial With PicsOk, I did some testing of many scenarios involving the Flight Analysis Screen with FS9.The first thing you need to know is how to take a screen capture. Details are best already explained in the screenshot forum here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=83146&page=1) When you fly, I suggest you use the Flight Planner Function within FS9 which will show your route of flight. before you take off, take a look at your Flight Analysis Screen and you will see a Magenta Line. This is your flight path as loaded by the flight planner function.2) Once you complete your flight, DON'T EXIT THE SIM until you get your screen pic showing you on the ground. So once you land, hit ALT, go to Options, and choose Flight Analysis. Now ZOOM OUT by hitting the - Icon in the upper left until your entire route is shown.a) Your COMPLETED Route of flight will show as a RED LINE, and only as a Red line.:( Your completed route of flight will change from Magenta mid flight to a White line upon completion.3) You need to post the route showing the red line for the completed flight.4) I have done some extensive testing between two very close Airports, KJOT (Joliet, IL)Rwy 04, and KLOT (Romeoville, IL) Rwy 09. You will see screenshots below which detail in depth what different changes will occur if you attempt to alter your flight. Remember, the legitimate flights for the race will be the ones showing the RED Line from Airport of Departure to Airport of Arrival.Shot #1= Flight loaded using MS Flight Planner function as it looks prior to departure on the MS Flight Analysis Screen which shows the Magenta Line for the planned flight.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/0.jpg..Shot #2= Completed Flight from JOT to LOT showing RED Line of Actual Flight and WHITE LINE of PLanned flight after sim recognizes flight is complete.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/3.jpg..Shot #3= No Flight Planner used, but Completed Flight showing RED LINE.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/5.jpg..Shot #4= Before Aircraft switch, flight plan loaded, flight being flown.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/6.jpg..Shot #5= Showing an Aircraft Switch Mid-Flight, which FS9 still recognizes Loaded Flight Plan. Note the little < Icon depicting where the switch took place, along with NO MORE RED LINE.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/7.jpg..Shot #6= Same flight with flight completed, Aircraft Switch icon, And RED LINE from point of Aircraft Switch, and WHITE LINE Showing Flight Planner Route which is still recognized even though I switched Aircraft mid-flight.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/8.jpg..Shot #7= NO flight PLan Loaded, but an Aircraft Switch Mid-Flight.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/9.jpg..Shot #8= NO Flight Plan Loaded, then GPS Direct To Enabled Mid-Flight, which shows as a Magenta Line, even as Entire Flight is Depicted as Red Line. In Other words if you need to divert, you can still use the Direct To Function of the GPS, and Your entire flight will still show up.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/10.jpg..Shot #9= NO Flight Plan Loaded, then GPS Direct To Enabled Mid-Flight, and then an Aircraft Switch depicted again as the < Icon.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/11.jpg..Shot #10= Flight is Completed as Route was Flown by Depicted White Line. However, an Aircraft Switch was made on the Ground so no RED LINE. No Proof of flight.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/17.jpg..Shot #11- Complete Flight, GPS Direct To enabled mid-flight, RED LINE shows complete flight.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/14.jpg..Shot #12= Flight Plan Loaded, and flight flown, then Opened GPS, Pressed Procedures page, Activated GPS Approach, Flown Route is Still RED, however flight Plan now shows as White Line, which means you can activate an Approach while flying to Destination Airport, and Flown Route still shows as RED LINE.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/18.jpg..Shot #13= Same as #12 except it confirms flown flight shows as RED LINE, even though approach was activated.http://www.aboutpolitics.net/rtw/19.jpg..In conclusion, there may be other situations but it all boils down to this. Zoom out the Flight Analysis Screen and show us the RED LINE providing evidence of flight from Departure to Destination.Hope This clears up what is expected of us so no questions arise during the race.Best Regards,Joe JOIN The AVSIM RTW RACE FLIGHT TEAM****************Grab My FREEWARE Cessna 172 Voice recognition Profile here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Hi JoeOne difficulty I see is that , when you fly a flight of say 400-600 miles, you have to Zoom out the map so much that there is no writing on the map to indicate exactly where you flew. An analysis of the picture itself - and taking into account the surrounding terrain does kind of show you where the flight went, but not real clearly.Try a 400 mile flight and you will see what I mean.Regards Barry

Well, if Matt Smith wants to take it that far, he could ask for 3 screenshots as proof.. One zoomed in on the departure airport, one zoomed in on the arrival, and one zoomed out to see the entire flight....Unfortunately, that would triple the number of screenshots in a single thread, making it slow down for dialup users 3 times as quickly.....

One thing that we did last year, to save download times for the threads, was to attach the confirmatory screenshots to our postings...but not embed the actual jpg's in the text. That way, the community could see the Flight Analysis shots by clicking on the jpg attachment hyperlink, but we would not have to download all those pictures. What is your sense of this practice? It was harder to find the confirmations--but easier to download the threads. Was this a good idea?Best,MikeBTW. Really excellent posting, Joe. Very very helpful.
