Taking a slightly circuitious route to stay out of closed Iranian airspace (Iran is closed from dusk to dawn for all aircraft except Iranian Airforce operations and can be fired on without warning).

Making excellent time with 100 knots of tailwind. Groundspeed over 500 knots in the Avanti.

OK, that wind caused instant overstress on the aircraft. Guess something is not quite as it should be with the stress simulation in FS as I was at no time overspeeding...Probably the same as happened the last time...So I'm starting this leg again, see what happens this time.Back in the air at 1934Z.

Descending5 minutes out.And landed in a hair raising approach. Skimmed the ground at about 300ft AGL for the last 5 miles searching for the runway in the dark.Airport has no lighting, not even edge lights on the runway. If it hadn't been for the gleam of moonlight in the concrete I'd never have seen it.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106323.jpg

Great fast leg, approach in poor visibility. Touchdown and deceleration OK. Then....Crashed turning off the runway to the taxiway. Busted leg. Next time I will drop baton and stop on runway.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106401.jpgFlight Log -- from The RTW-Duenna v.0.600 Rev. 27----------------------------------------------------------- Takeoff: System Time UTC: 11/02/2005 02:25:04 FS Time: 11/02/2005 08:17:45 Location: N25

Get to the runway, brake all the way to a stop on the runway, hit drop the baton, go to the forum, post baton is free, then worry about the taxiway.Quick turns can mean minutes in a close race. You will have quite a while to post the pics, so getting the pic is more important than exiting the runway, IMHO. :-)Regards,JoeJOIN The AVSIM RTW RACE FLIGHT TEAM****************Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Nice flight over thunderstorms. Nice long runway with no ILS, 5500' altitude.I ran the Aerostar really, really low on fuel. I like to plan for 20 minutes reserve (for the RTW race at least) so that if I have to divert to another airport, I have at least 20 minutes of extra fuel. I flew this leg with the LOW FUEL light on for 50 miles! Not a good feeling since there are basically NO other airports within 50 or so miles. In the mountains!Ok, good luck flying out of this airport. I figured I'd land at an obtuse airstrip to give you fellas something challenging to fly from...Attached Duenna proofs
