RTWR 2006: A Heads-Up

Recommended Posts

RTWR 2006: Heads-Up Notices for this Weekend.1. The 2006 Race will feature a unique 'kick-off' event offering an opportunity for all members to participate and contribute to getting their team started around the world. Unlike the previous races, all possible team members should plan to be ready to fly when the flag drops on Sunday, February 19, 2006 at 1700 UTC. The event lasts three hours and puts a premium on participation. Pilots should be checked-out in the DC-3 (Default or MAAM-SIM). Additional details will be posted when the final rules are released before the start of the race.2. Among the Special Rules for 2006 will be a Pressure Altitude Restriction. Teams should be prepared to fly some or many legs at less than 8500 ft Pressure Altitude. (That is, with the altimeter set at 1013mb/29.92in HG, the altitude should read less than 8500 ft.) A Special 2006 RTW Duenna will be available.Best,Mike MacKuenfor the Executive Committee and the Advisory Committee
