Flying at or below 8500

Recommended Posts

Folks,Few screenshots of my first practice leg at or below 8500 feet.My aircraft for this leg was Howard 500http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/141697.jpgFlight analysis screenshot of the leg. Note that the actual flight path (in red) deviates from the direct flight line (in white.) This was necessary to stay below 8500.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/141698.jpgZoomed in flight analysis of departure from SKMD. Had to dodge and weave to stay under the ceiling.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/141699.jpgFinal zoomed analysis screen shows me dodging an outlier of the main ridge of the Andes.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/141700.jpgJeff (KDCA)

NOE: Nap Of the Earth.Military term for flying under powerlines and below the treetops. :-lolWe'd better add some new requirements for our pilots then:1. Excellent vision. 2. Above average reflexes.3. Considerable strength for pulling branches from control surface areas after flight.

and for aircraft: ability to survive impact on trees and preferably floating rocks in the sky without damage to aircraft structure large enough to impair airworthiness :)
