Windows XP UPnP

Recommended Posts

I need to say, that UPnP is the *magic bullet* ONLY if have a router between you and yhe Internet. If you're just connected with a cable modem, you need to open ports in your firewall. UPnP is a hardware feature.Sven Sorensen, EKCH

---and even if you do have a router, it needs to have its firewall enabled (UPnP can only open ports in the firewall, if there is a firewall). If you also have a software fireall, you need to configure that as well, ie manually open the ports (23456(UDP) and 6073 (UDP) both in and out).Brgds Sven Sorensen, EKCH
