Departure Runways

Hi there,First of all excellent program! This definately takes flight simulation up to a new notch of realism. Ok, I create a flight from Orlando Sanford (KSFB) to Melbourne, FL (KMLB) with calm weather and clear skies. When calling for my taxi clearance, I call for VFR to the SoutEast. Now, KSFB has 4 (8) runways, 9L/27R, 9C/27C, 9R/27L and 36/18. I am given taxi clearance to runway 36, which is very unusual for this airport anyways. So, I'm taking off north to depart southeast. No problem, but the winds are calm. Wouldn't the best runway to use be 9L? Especially since I'm parked right next to it. At least let me take off runway 18 since I'm going south. The interesting thing is, listening to the traffic from VoxATC, they're giving takeoff and landing clearances on runway 27 while I'm taking off on runway 36. That's pretty scarey!Anyone else seen similar behavior?Keep up the good work!

Hi Eric,When at a tower airport you can request taxi to any active runway, if the program is not accepting your phrasing bring up the prompter and press the zero to bring up the options menu while you are still on ground frequency, you should find the text for the runway you want and be able to get the request to take. These runway assignments and runway assignments for the audible AI traffic are still being ironed out. I have frequently been landing a little Cessna only to hear an airliner landing in the opposite direction, certainly gets ya thinkin ;).BTW that's a really neat project you got going with the Cessna cockpit... my wife would definitely shoot me :). I found a full mockup of an Embraer ERJ145 cockpit for a around $1,400 (MDF with adhesive stickers for the panel). Yeah... it did get me thinking what if I made some cutouts and stuck some monitors in from behind and then there's all those Project Magenta goodies. We are a crazy bunch aren't we?Cheers,Zane

$1,400! I wish... I've got more around $18,000 into my sim. The good thing, it's an investement really. You'd be suprised at what people would pay for a full scale Cessna 172 R / SP replica. That's about the only way I could justify it to my wife. Some people buy fancy sport cars for their mid-life crisis, well, I built a cool simulator for my early mid-life crisis :)Thanks for the info. I never realized there was an options menu. I'll read more into the documentation. I had to ask support how to activate the voice without a joystick because it wasn't easily found in the docs.
