Vox ATC and IFR?

Hiya allI have hyst finnished rebuilding A new pc and it has fueled my Addiction to FS2004 even more than it already was. I'm interested in VOXatc and want a little bit of info. I only really fly airliner aircraft my current 2 favs are the pmdg 747-400 and the level-D 767-300. Does VOXatc handle IFR OK? I have a friend who I sometimes fly with online and he has the older version of VOX I think its the american version. He said its a very good idea and works very well for VFR flying but on the attempts he has made in IFR it cant seem to cope. it sometimes vectors you around in circles etc before vectoring you the the ILS.What I want to know is has it been improved now that the UK edition is out? I have FSX installed too but untill both level-d and pmdg have aircraft for it i'll probably not switch. Is it worth me waiting for the FSX version?Many thanks in advanceDean

Hi Dean,I'd recommend you look over the documentation for VoxATC available on their site: www.voxatc.com and you can also download the demo which allows flights that you can design around three enabled airports, either in US for the US version or the UK in the UK version. Note the UK version is a newer program with AI traffic capability ported through the multiplayer module but also uses ICAO terminology where as the US version uses FAA terminology. Version 4 will have both depending on where you are flying.That said, I am a real pilot. I use VoxATC almost exclusively for all my simulator flights VFR or IFR because I find it very realistic and it keeps me radio fresh for when I really fly. As for being vectored way out for IFR landing you'll notice in the documentation that you can set up SIDs and STARs prior to a flight and when first contacted by approach you can manually select a full ILS or any other approach into the runway you desire. Only if you use the default vectors to final will you be taken out about 20 miles for the approach. I find whether flying a selected approach or the default vectors to final that it "copes" very well. Just don't expect to fly an approach at 250 knots and remember to change your heading when instructed, just like in real life ;).Zane

Hi Zane,Thank you very much for spending the time to write down your views on VOXATC. I have read through the documentation and never realised that there is a demo version.
