Joystick Issue with VoxAtc-X 5.55

Recommended Posts

Guest RichardL

Has anyone else noticed joystick assignment issues with 5.55?After installing 5.55, I went to the Joystick assignment section to again (why do we have to do this with a program update) assign button presses for PTT, Prompter, and Indent. When I press a joystick button to assign PTT, all three blocks show "Pressed" instead of just the PTT block. Same with Ident. Only the Prompter assignment works correctly. If I Enable VoxAtc, the buttons do nothing.I have checked the button activations in FSUIPC and Vista Game Controller and all buttons are working correctly.Any ideas?

I installed 5.55 last night all looked ok but, see below:-I have always had a problem with assigning buttons to these functions and as a result I usually only use the keys options (second tab). I had originally thought this was due to my setup (lots of devices) one of which was probably giving some form of 'always on' status stopping this from working properly - so I ignored. However,After the latest install, I tried pressing buttons and holding them down before selecting the option to assign. That seemed to cure my problem - might be worth a try for you. While we are on the subject do you know what the option to show prompt does?I thought this would show the prompter window, but it does not work for me, either with keys or buttons assigned, and I have to manually select the VoxATC window from the menu system. It does not do anything even when the prompter is visible on screen.Just curious as I can't work it out - any help would be good :)PS I run full screen, with TH2G (3*19) + a single 15 on a second PCI express card which I use for VoxATC.OldBadger

Hi OB,Thank you for the reply. The show Prompter option will open the Prompter on the screen, then close it with another button press. Same as can be done with assigning via the Keys Tab.I normally fly witout the Prompter visible, but do sometimes need it to reply to lengthly ATC responses. So it is very handy to have. I have it assigned ( or trying ) to a toggle button on the yoke.I too have many USB hardware units. Mostly GoFlight but also have a VMAX yoke. I'll try some more and see if I can't get them to work. Good point on the "stuck" button possibility. Button assigments worked fine for me in 5.46.

No problems here with 5.5. In fact I had problems with the old version and the PTT. I sometimes had to press it again (as if to release button) in order for ATC to hear me. Now this seems ok. Also the whole "platform" seems to be more solid.I have WIN XP and FSUIPC with Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System etc...Ken

Nice pic. Thanks for sharing.Just to clarify what I wrote earlier, the yoke button is momentary not toggle.
