Having a VERY frustrating problem!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hello Wayne,I just want to double check something:Did this just happen out of the blue? I got the impression from your last sentance that it worked properly before. Are you running in the 2D cockpit or VC?Which version of the PMDG do you own?Did you ensure that you had all the latest PMDG updates installed before installing FS2Crew? That's very important, or things can get messed up.All the best,Bryan

Bryan,Thanks for the quick reply. I am using FS2Crew in the PMDG 900 with just the VC, not the cabin. I have all of the updates for PMDG installed BEFORE installing FS2Crew. When I first purchased FS2Crew, it worked correctly. Then all of a sudden one day I started having problems. Thanks...

Hello Wayne,So it worked before with FS2Crew, and FS2Crew was working fine, and now it just stopped working.Gremlins in the plane?Try using just the 2D cockpit and see what happens.Unfortunately I can't fix what I can't reproduce, and so far it seems you're the only one with this little Gremlin. When you re-installed the PMDG, did you use the PMDG remove tool? Are you using the latest version of FSUIPC?Bryan

Bryan,Yes, I am using the PMDG remove tool each time I uninstall. I just tried another reinstall, but this time I re-downloaded each of the updates for FS2Crew and PMDG, just to see if my updates were somehow corrupted.I will make sure that I have the latest version of FSUIPC as well.Anything else you can think of?

Hi,Just make extra sure you've got all the PMDG Updates including the 800/900 Optional Models Upgrade installed before installing FS2Crew.Also, it's a good idea to re-download the FS2Crew updates as you mentioned just in case the file got corrupt during the xfer. That's all I can really think of.Bryan

Bryan...So I re downloaded each of the update files, reinstalled them. I also made sure I had the newest version of FSUIPC. I fired up FS9 just to test, and this time used the VC and Cabin and had no problem. Both Ground Power and APU Gen swithes worked and clicked on.Then I exited FS9, restarted, and did EXACTLY the same thing and in the EXACT same order: Started Ground power...Fire Overheat Texts...start APU...APU GEN switches...and NOTHING!!!The Ground Power switch wouldn't even move this time either. What now?

So you re-installed everything and it worked fine. That's good. But then you exited FS9 and rebotted FS9, and then it stopped working again. That is weird.I'm royally stumped. Did you try making any personal modifications to the panel.cfg files after the fact, for example, trying to add weather radar or other gauges? Is doing a clean re-install of FS9 an option, or do you already have too much stuff on it?Bryan

Hey there. I am having a problem with my APU GEN switches--THEY WON"T TURN ON!!! I can hear them click, but no movement, and no lights.I have posted on the PMDG forum, you can find it here: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=80878&page=1It seems that I am having this problem only when I install FS2CREW. Without it, I have no problems. Things used to work just fine, but all of a sudden the problem reared its ugly head.I am becoming VERY frustrated, because now I have TWO quality FS9 addons that I enjoy very much, but neither work correctly anymore. Please Help!!!Thanks...Wayne

Another thing:I noticed you bought FS2Crew last year.I know it's tough to remember, but what did you install on your computer between the time FS2Crew was working and the time the APU switch stopped working.Bryan
