Autopilot control

Recommended Posts

Does the FO control the AP during landing? Twice now, the AP has disconnected at about 3-400ft during a managed, single channel, ILS approach. The problem is, the aircraft was wildly out of trim and nosed down abruptly upon AP disconnect, slamming the aircraft into the ground. BTW, it was the PMGD -700.Dave FisherCYYZP4 Prescott 3.2e 478p 800mhz 1mg CPUP4P800SE Asus Motherboard2.5 gig PC3200 DDR RAM 400MHZGeForce 7600GT/512 OC'dMaxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HD x2WDC WD800 80 Gig HDAntec 500watt true powerSharp 19 inch LCD MonitorSaitek AV8R-01 Joystickhttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpg

Hello Dave,The only time the FO would control the autopilot is during a Monitored Approach and if you let the FO do the takeoff. The autopilot controls the trim, too, so if you've got some kind of runaway nose down trim after you disengage the AP, I might check for anything on your system (like a key assignment) that is somehow triggering the trim to go full nose down (like a repeating key).I would also ask the PMDG Support forum about this one, too.Cheers,Bryan
