TrackIR and the PIC Airbus

Recommended Posts

I really expected TrackIR to be very cool with the interactive VC in PIC Airbus. It's pretty cool looking around the cockpit and kind of neat to be able to click on buttons with the mouse without switching back to the 2D view. However, from a practical perspective, it actually doesn't work that well. Dials are almost impossible. You can click on them but you have to be able to hold your head absolutely still while you do so, otherwise the cursor moves off the knob. Perhaps it will be better with mouse-look because you can just center the mouse on it. I hope MS finds a good solution for this in FS ACF.David

Is it not possible to use TrackIR as the mouse-look device and the normal mouse as the "hand" to operate switches?

As you move your head, the cursor stays in the same place (unless you move your mouse) relative to the screen. Therefore the cursor moves off the button. Does that make sense?David
