Back to basics,,,

Recommended Posts

All, First off - just a big THANK YOU - to the folks on the Tin Mouse team... This plane is one of the most enjoyable packages I have ever had the plaesure to fly - payware included... Just purchased FSUIPC to see what you guys come up with next... I have been spending a great deal of time flying your plane as realistically as possible... Autopilot - VOR Lock - and over flying a VOR... This may be a conceptual error - but - after I overfly the VOR - the autopilot is still doing massive corection 8 or 10 miles out... Am I missing something ? Normally - I just switch back to manual and lock the heading - but - I am not sure if this is the correct procedure... What does the "GA" icon on the panel do ??? When viewing the aircraft in an exterior view - the stall horn comes on - yet the airspeed is fine and the throttles are on - is this normal ?Thanks again...Tin Mouse Rocks !Regards,Scott

Am I missing something ?>Normally - I just switch back to manual and lock the heading ->but - I am not sure if this is the correct procedure...Depends on your altitude. Remember that at FL350 you're close to 6nm in altitude, so at 8 DME you're really only ~2 miles laterally from the VOR, and still pretty much in the navaid's "cone of confusion." You should fly in heading select until the CDI is stable and you're on a good intercept heading...probably at least 5 nm laterally from the VOR (not 5 DME which is slant-range distance).> What does the "GA" icon on the panel do ???Will have to go look, but believe it does nothing at present. The icon is a leftover from the orignal RP panel.> When viewing the aircraft in an exterior view - the stall>horn comes on - yet the airspeed is fine and the throttles are>on - is this normal ?Doubt it's the stall horn...more likely the altitude or gear warning horn. How's the press system looking when it happens? Are the throttles back at idle? I've not seen this one before.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

> When viewing the aircraft in an exterior view - the stall>horn comes on - yet the airspeed is fine and the throttles are>on - is this normal ?Yeah this horn got me a few times to.In the overhead panel look for the "Alt Horn Cutout" .... bottom right about a third across above the red rectangular switch.Click that and the horn goes off.

But...if the bleeds and packs are on and the press controller is properly set, you shouldn't be getting that horn.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile
