Back to old flap control for non-FSUPIC-users of Tinmou...

Recommended Posts

Guest D-SK666

I don`t own the payware version of FSUPIC and I am not going to buy it for a single flap function. Spoilers could be controlled with the main panel spoiler light button but it is nearly impossible to switch between pedestral and main panel while flying on final just to drag the flap lever with the mouse. This is so unprecise that I regularly set the wrong flap setting. It costs time and kills my patience.I know about the upcoming features of simulated hydraulic failures but concerning to the circumstances: Flying is more important for me than failure simulations. I want my old F5,F6-functions back, maybe without electric power or hydraulic pressure, otherwise the plane would become nearly unflyable for me.Finally my question:Which lines in the panel or elsewhere must be altered to get the old function back?

Probably best to go back to V1.1 then, because this and future versions of the panel will be more and more dependent on FSUIPC.It's not as simple as changing a line in the panel.cfg--this is deeply embedded in the program code.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

Yep looks like it's the same for me. I have PFC and tried following the instructions and the spoilers and flaps don't work either. Then i call my friend and he says he can't get it to work either with his G0-flight set up so he went back to 1.1. So i looks like i'll do the same---- We both have the payware 3.70 version----Louis

Hi Bob,I also prefer the F5-F6-F7-F8 function control and I own registered latest FSUIPC. Is there any input I can make with FSUIPC to make it work ?Sotiris.

Same request here. Version 1.2 is perfect, except the Logic of the Flaps and Spoilers. Please give a hint how to use V1.2 but with Flaps and Spoilers of V1.1.Many thanksDaniel

I`m glad to see that I am not alone with my opinion that this development - although providing more possible realism - seriosly affects the so called gameplay. I understand the intention to use logics outside of the FS-system, because many aspects of real system simulations (e.g. hydraulics) are not possible with the "vanilla version" of FS.Could you not do it the way "Project Tupolev" did it? Joystick functions are programmed totally outside of FS so that you deactivate the stick once you open a flight with your T154. Project Tupolev with newest patches even don`t use any single FSUPIC function any more! And look how detailed their system simulations are.-----------------------------------------------------------------------Finally: Please, please, please!!! With regard to a lot of your fans, make a light version with classic flap and spoiler behavior. I can live with limitations of the panel, the most important thing for me are flight dynamics and these are also improved with version 1.2 - so going back to 1.1 is impossible for me.

Hi All, FYI - I just purchased FSUIPC - just for this plane - and Bob's step by step worked fine for me... I am a real beginner with FSUIPC... I just followed this procedure posted in another post... I use a CH Quad Throttle lever for my flaps control... I still need to figure out how to do the same with the spoiler - but - I think it will work if you purchase FSUIPC... And for a plane as cool as this one - the expense is trivial... This is what I did..."0. Select FSUIPC Drop-down box from FS Modules Menu1. In FSUIPC select "Key Presses" tab2. Check the "Aircraft Specific" checkbox3. Press the "Set" button4. Press F6...F6 should now appear above the Set & Clear buttons in the box5. In the "Control sent when keys pressed" drop-down box, select "Offset Byte Set"6. In the offset box, type "x6D11"7. In the parameter box, type "2"8. Press "Confirm" button and you should see the settings in the gray boxes on the right side of the window.9. Press "OK" to saveNow do the same for F7 key only parameter is 3 instead of 2. Now F6/F7 buttons will work.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile"Regards,Scott

There is a special thread with help for the configuration of FSUPIC. This thread is meant to open a discussion about keeping up with further developments of the plane without having to pay 24 euro for a program totally unnecessary elsewhere.24 euro would be almost the price for a payware version, e.g. the dreemfleet 727 - just for a flap control. FSUPIC is obsolete for me, but I love this project.

In this case no FSUIPC assignments are necessary...For the flaps, I have assigned the flap switch on the PFC quadrant to send the offsets necessary to operate the flaps.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

Hi,I did right as you say, configured it with FSUIPC, it did work, but on the next FS9 restart, those settings were not remembered by FS. So, do I have to reconfigure FSUIPC every time I want to fly Tinmouse 737 ?Sotiris.

First, make sure you have FSUIPC version 3.70 or later. There's an interim version 3.709 on Pete Dowson's forum that deals with some issues with retaining button/key assignments as well...I recommend that everyone use that version. Follow the "Get Interim Versions Here" link at:http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?f=54Assuming you're using the aircraft-specific configuration as recommended, be aware that aicraft-specific is also livery-specific. Setting the options for an American Airlines variant of the TinMouse will not carry over when you load the Delta version etc.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

Bob,I did everything according to your instructions successfully. My next -and final for the time being- target is to add wx radar of DF727 to 737-200. I tried to "point" wx radar of DF727 adding it in upper radio stack window in panel.cfg. The radar appeared in its position, but its switches did not work, despite cursor's change to "hand".I wonder if you could tell me what I 'm missing.Thanks,Sotiris.

You can't do that, because Dreamfleet have included a version of the radar gauge which is crippled so that it will not work outside their panel. If you want the RXP radar, you'll need to buy it separately.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

OK with the radar, thanks, but unfortunately neither 3.7.0.0 nor 3.7.0.9 FSUIPC can retain settings as I now find out. I got 3.7.0.9,but no hits. If nothing changes with flap/speed brakes virtual controls in v1.2, I will sadly go back to v1.1.Sotiris.
