Throttle Trim/Lock

Recommended Posts

Guest lou ross

First of all, I really do enjoy simming in the TinmouseII, having version 1.2. This is a great project! Everything working fine for me with v1.2, except the throttle trim with the mouse. The invisible click spot is there, but clicking the + or - does nothing. I've tried it with the PDCS engage, not engaged, EPR bugs set and also run to the bottom. Something I'm missing, or this is still being programed? (fsuipc registered). Thanks again,

Have you tried clicking and holding for a few seconds? The throttle trim is meant for slow/fine adjustments. If that doesn't work...what sort of throttle control are you using? Have you looked at the other threads on the subject here (in particular this one?):http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...=1053&mode=fullRegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

Since loading v1.2, when I click the throttle trim, I instantly lose all throttle control from my joystick although it does respond to clicking on the + and - spots. I cannot regain joystick throttle control unless I reset the flight.I'm using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro programmed through FS, although I do have a registered version of FSUIPC.What with this and getting the flaps operation set up, I haven't managed to complete a flight since installing v1.2! :-lol I think I might have to go back to my beloved v1.1 and leave further upgrades to the determined professionals!Ian

Then I tried opening the throttle pedestal view and moved each throttle control with the mouse, and joystick control was restored... I didn't try using the throttle trim again on that flight, but moving the throttles manually worked so I could finish the flight using the throttle wheel on the joystick (MS Precision Pro) with no problems...Sonny

I'm using a Microsoft Sidewinder. I've had no probs concerning the trim/lock interfering with the MSSidewinder throttle control. However, I was only clicking two or three individual clicks- next flight I'll hold the mouse button and see if I get some movement. Thanks.

I just want to confirm the correct usage of the throttle trim/lock. I use a Saitek ST-200 joystick with separate throttle control. I prefer not to map throttle trim to my joystick. In order to engage throttle trim, I click on the invisible clickspot in the lower left corner of the #1 EPR gauge. This, as I understand it, locks the throttle input from the joystick. Then, to make fine throttle adjustments either up or down, I can click the throttle lever on the pedestal in the appropriate direction (up or down). To disengage, I simply move the throttle lever on my joystick in either direction. Thanks for your help.Pete in KORD

No, when you click on the throttle trim hotspot, it locks the throttle in its current position and moves the throttle in fine increments up/down. So to engage the throttle trim and decrease the throttle setting, click and hold the "-" side of the trim clickspot until the EPR is where you want it. The throttle setting will remain there, ignoring throttle axis input, until the throttle lever is moved ~10% of its travel up/down from the position it was in when engaged or to either extreme (100% or idle).RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile
