FSUIPC "keypress" settings not retained...but they are.

Recommended Posts

AFAICT, the FSUIPC settings I entered to enable the flaps with the F6 and F7 keys are working, even though they don't show up in FSUIPC "keypress" settings? I read here about this being a possible issue but I tested it with FSUIPC 3.6 and the flaps work correctly using the F6 and F7 keys and they show up in the FSUIPC.INI. I then downloaded and installed FSUIPC 3.71. The "keypress" settings for F6 and F7 still don't show up in the FSUIPC "keypress" window (aircraft specific) but, they still work for me. So, don't fret too much if you don't see these settings and you have programed your F6 and F7 keys in FSUIPC. You can tell easily if it's not working...set flaps down with F7 and run the throttles up...no alarm horn? It's working, AFAIK. I believe that as long as you see the F6 & F7 keypress settings for your TM II in the FSUIPC.INI, they will work. Vic

That's because in V1.21 I hard-coded the F6 and F7 keys for the flap commands. It has nothing to do with your FSUIPC key assignments...it should always work. You can still program other keys and/or joystick buttons to operate the flaps as well using the FSUIPC assignments using the FSUIPC offsets.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

Then what's all this about:"1. Implementation of alternate flap control system... +++The default FS controls (F6/F7) will not work correctly, however you can program the same buttons to send the required FSUIPC commands to move flaps up/down+++." I'm sorry but this says that I couldn't use F6 and F7 without some FSUIPC "alterations". Now your telling me I wasted my time? This is from the "TinMouse II V1.2 readme corrected.RTF"...I know of no other document more recent than this one. As much as I love my Mouse I'm not very happy with the documentation. Why does the V 1.2 documentation not mention this "hard coding"? You'll pardon me, I hope, but I'm way over chasing FSUIPC settings...especially when I find out they aren't required? I realize that the Mouse uses things that FS9 doesn't recognize, and I have no problem with that...I have many payware and freeware addon aircraft which are the same. I do, however, have a problem with the latest and greatest documentation sending me on wild goose chases? Could you please come up with a, once and for all, manual for the TM II? Although I have caused my own problems, at times, I don't believe this is the case now. I am reading from the most up to date document I have and it says I have to FSUIPC my F6 and F7 keys. If I missed something in the "TinMouse II V1.2 readme corrected.rtf" please feel free to point it out to me...I am used to being corrected at my expense! LOL! I am an avid fan of this addon...why else would I be bugging you so much? If I thought it sucked you would never hear from me! Now, on the "plus" side... I just completed my very first TM II flight using the INS on a flight from KGSO to TXKF...no alarm horns, no anomolies...no NOTHING. Everything worked as advertised! It was a wonderful flight and my little mouse is my favorite jetliner...hands down. If you believe that I am asking all these questions because I think this addon sucks...think again. I LOVE my Mouse! This is , by far, the greatest freeware addon I have for a jetliner. I am not happy when I follow unneeded directions. I am even unhappier when I offer advice to others based on unneeded directions. I hope you see my point, here. Vic, lover of the mouse.

OH...it still doesn't answer the original question. Apparently FSUIPC 3.71 STILL doesn't retain "keypress" settings?? Because, whether needed or not by the TM II, they don't show up in the FSUIPC "keypress" window, once installed. They still show in the INI, however. Vic

The "corrected" V1.2 readme is indeed correct if you have V1.2 installed...i.e. without any of the patches. For the changes made in the patches subsequent to 1.2 there are separate readme files (currently for V1.21 and V1.22). I generally merge it all together into one updated file on release of a major update, like 1.0 to 1.1 etc.> Could you please come up with a, once and for all, manual for>the TM II?Macs is reportedly working on one. I recommend you get with him and see what you can do to help...it is after all a community project, and seeing how strongly you feel about the subject, I welcome your future contributions in this area.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

If you make the key assignment and don't take that last step of pressing the Confirm button, the changes are discarded.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile
