EPR and Fuel Flow Lag

Recommended Posts

Guest BoeingBonkers

Hey all,I am having a strange problem, the EPR and Fuel flow are lagging the EPR sometimes increases too slow i.e. I will have my throttles at say 2.15EPR and the epr gauge finally reaches 2.15 at the time I rotate. Also sometimes the Fuel flow gauge gets stuck at around 1.2. I dont know whats causing it, here is a screen shot in flight.fsscr016.jpgSometimes its both gauges and sometimes its just one and sometimes it dosnt do it at all. If its because I havnt read something I apologise! I am upto date with the updates.Matt

In the pic it looks like the left throttle is pulled back to idle. Might want to check your throttle axis calibration, or FSUIPC throttle mapping assignments if you have a single throttle lever mapped to multiple engines via FSUIPC. Also, FS has some key assignments for throttle select...could it be you're accidentally triggering them? Not sure what you mean about having "throttles at 2.15 EPR"...how do you know what EPR they're set to? If you mean the EPR bugs, they are only reference markers for the pilot. EPR does increase some at a given throttle setting as the acft accelerates on takeoff due to way FS models throttle versus "corrected" engine fan speeds, which change with mach no.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

I did calibrate the Joystick, that diddnt seem to help, it only sometimes seems to do it thats the strange thing. If you look at the gauges only the EPR and Fuel Flow seem to differ, if one throttle wernt aligned wouldnt the N1, N2 and EGT be out of whack aswell.I know the how the PCDS and EPR bugs work, but I push the throttles up on my joystick to where 2.15 epr SHOULD be (estimated) and the epr gauge only reaches that at rotate the N1 N2 and EGT all shoot up normally. Its kinda hard to explain but I hope you can understand.

What EPR does the engine show prior to rotate? What version of FSUIPC are you using? How are you starting the engines? Hopefully not with CTRL-E.Have you merged the plane with another model or otherwise modified the aircraft.cfg to change the contact points section? If the panel does not detect that it is on the ground properly, it could cause related problems.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

Another way to put it is that the EPR Gauges are Very sluggish. In this picture it shows me in flight the FF gauges diddnt move after I started the Engine.fsscr019.jpgSometimes its just one and sometimes its both. This is driving me mad!I start the engines with the engine start knobs with the APU/APU Gens/APU Bleed air on.Btw I dont think I have said a big thanks for the panel its superb!

OK...need more information as per my previous post.Again, I need to know what version of FSUIPC, and what model and config you are using. Is this a merge of the TinMouse II panel with some other model and/or FDE? Are you using one of the two aircraft.cfg files included in the TinMouse package? Our 737-200adv.air file, or something different?RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

Note that in every version of the readme since V1.0 it specifies FSUIPC version 3.6 or greater is needed. You are running version 3.53. Recommend you update FSUIPC to the latest version and try again.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

I am using FSUIPC V3.71, and panel v1.22, same problem with me, the problem occur only when i shutdown the engine, and start the engine using manual start (using knob), to solve this problem i assign key through fsuipc key, using autostart engine 1 and engine 2. maybe this can help.RegardsRW168

OK, I'll take another look tonight. A post in another thread suggests it's only happening at OAT greater that 24 deg C. CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

Not seeing anything obvious in the code, but there are a couple possibilities. Is this happening only on the ground? What's the OAT and TAT when it happens?RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

yes, you are right i had trie the panel when TAT 15, the epr and fuel gauge work correctly, when TAT 32, the epr and fuel flow gauge become stack, please some advice how to solve this problem???without using autostart through FSUIPC, thanks.RegardsRW168

Just confirmed the bug. See my post in:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=661&mode=fullAs long as you start engines with temps between around 8-22 deg C you should be OK...closer to 15 is better. Basically engine is staying stuck in final phase of custom start sequence.Check and see if the start switch solenoid ever disengaged...bet the switch in still in GND.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile
