Pause in engine start.

Recommended Posts

Hi BobA while back it was noticed that during certain OAT that the engine instruments paused during the start procedure. I know that you corrected this, but I am still having this prob. For me it happens at any temp. On introduction a fuel the engine hangs for 4 secs before the gauges then start to show a start. It's not FS pausing as I have checked this. I know there can be a delay in light off but it is all engine parameters. If there iss any more info I can supply then please let me know and I gladly help in any way I can.Kind regardsPaul

The previous problem was something else...engine instruments getting stuck indefinitely due to the engines being stuck in start mode. Once you open the fuel valve at ~20% N2, you should see an immediate indication of fuel flow, then lightoff and engine acceleration after a few seconds (the lightoff time will vary, up to ~5 sec if I remember right). The engine will not accelerate until the lightoff occurs. That behavior was a real PITA to program correctly...and I might add that very few add-ons get engine start indications and behavior right. Most spring to life like a car engine.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

Thank you very much Bob. Yes there is a fuel flow indication on start. I know that the default engine start is highly unrealistic! I think its the sound that fools me into thinking it was pausing as the engine sound continues to accelerate. Any way have to go as I left her running unattended on the terminal forecourt!Kind regardsPaul

Paul; Yes, the sound is an FS-ism I haven't been able to overcome...yet.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile
