?? Flaps horn?

Hi,When flying the tinmouse, my first challenge is to make sense of the autopilot. It's a great pity to release a great plane like that without so much as a hint of manual. But what I am finding really hard to deal with is the persistent, shrill and strident warning horn that lasts from the first 5 degrees of flaps I apply during approach to the moment I touch the runway. What am I missing? Thanks for any replies..P.

Hi P...Can't help ya with the manual - but - it looks like someone in this forum is working on one... Gotta appreciate all the time these folks donate to the cause...I am no expert - but - the mouse is one of my favorite planes to fly... The horn ??? LOL - took me a while to get it to work as well... You can get the mouse ready to fly pretty quickly...I start with the overhead... Make sure the Yaw Damper is on - I hit the switches for the power - probe heat - and a few others - to get most of the lights on the overhead to extinguish... Check your trim on the throttle window - a set you flaps... The one thing that kept my horn - on - was that the spoilers were partially deployed... I had to play with my spoilers lever to get them fully off... I think that should get it to work... I am sure others can provide the right way to do it... There is a hint of a manual, not as well organized as it could be, but then again I use a r/w B732 flight manual (on CD from www.EFlightManuals.com) for both development and operation of the 'Mouse. The FS-isms are documented in the readme files...systems operation is left to the user to learn from the multitude of available r/w sources.The horn you refer to is the landing gear warning horn...it's coming on because you have the power back, at low altitude, with the flaps out of the up position, and the gear up. There's a gear warning cutout switch on the throttle quad to turn it off as in the r/w.I offer you the same challenge I've offered others who complain about the documentation...the community would sure like to see someone (by that I mean you) step up and put in the hours to provide the needed documentation for this project.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

Hello Bob,I'd love to write a manual, but until I learn how to use everything on the aircraft, I need a source to ask questions to. Would you be that source? I don't think there are many simmers out there who go through a real-world full-size passenger jet manual just to be able to fly a FS version of it, which has to be pared down quite a bit (I assume) to fit into the limitations of the FS engine... I certainly don't. Aircraft like the Cessna 180, with an accurate enough model, sure, but jets? Even the 180 has a whole fuse board that isn't even shown in the model, let alone functional. Anyway, if you're willing to be my point of contact for questions, I'm prepared to do the writing. For starters, where can I find information on how to use the autopilot? All I can get it to do right now is fly along a heading and stay at attitude or altitude. Is there a manual somewhere on how to operate it? Many thanks for your response on the horn issue. I'll try it next time I get into the cockpit. Philippe

See question #1 in the FAQ in this forum.Certainly I can help anyone who's working on a manual.The simulation of complex systems in this project was not done with the casual simmer in mind.
