Development of the TinMouse II for FSX discontinued

Recommended Posts

Folks; More than six months after release of FSX, and after a very frustrating week with post-SP1 FSX, I have reluctantly made the decision to cease all development effort on the TinMouse II for FSX for the indefinite future. Given the personally disappointing results of Microsoft's best efforts with SP1, I cannot see FSX ever evolving to a point that would make the effort to develop for it worth the cost in my time. I believe the development effort will be better spent moving forward on a proven platform in FS9. There are still quite a number of things I want to do with the panel, and I do intend to continue working that way, but in the FS9 environment only.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

Thanks for the update Bob and I for one won't miss the FSX compatibility. FS9 only is fine for me and probably for most Tinmouse II users. :)Looking forward to what the future will bring to this fantastic aircraft.

Let's all give Bob a standing ovation!!!!:-beerchug :-beerchug , or buy him a beer! I am glad there are developers not abandoning FS9 for FSX.If anyone cares, see my post on the PMDG forum --"Why not FS9, page 13". This is only my opinion on why I will be with FS9 for a long time, and am satisfied and content with my decision. Thanks Bob, really enjoy the TM2, and salute you for the effort!Rick

Glad to hear of this decision, Bob. I have no intention of buying FSX for the time being, but I'm definitely looking forward to the further evolution of the Tinmouse II in FS9. John G.

Dear Bob,I've much appreciated and respected your decision on quitting from further development of TM2 for FSX. I am personally disappointed with FSX where I thought Microsoft had the ultimate flight sim experience taken to an upper level, where frankly disappoints us all.I sincerely encourage you to focus on further development of this unique panel for FS9 where I already set my parking brakes on and staying there for a while.Thank's so much for the great moments of joy and pleasure I've got every time I put my hands on flying this amazing panel. I love the "Fat Albert" very much indeed. With best regardsArt Villeraux

Hello Bob,sad to hear that you have had unfortunate results with FSX SP1. Of course the decision is fully up to you, but if you are interested, I can offer you my help to get you up and running with FSX and SP1. Unless you own a very old PC it should be possible to achieve a decent performance which would allow the Tinmouse II to run on FSX (just performance-wise).So, if you

Bob, I am actually glad to hear this as I have no intention on running out and spending many G's on a new machine...just to be able to run FSX! I am very happy with FS9 and all those developers (Free or Pay) who continue to develop for FS9 will have my money and/or my gratitude! I just hope that MS realizes why we are not all jumping off the FSX cliff, like lemmings. I also hope they come back with a better understanding of what it is the hardcore Flight simmer wants...and not just abandon MSFS...that would be a great loss, in my mind. Looking forward to any updates to my favorite 'liner, Bob! Vic
