CWS problem

Recommended Posts

Hi there. Love the aircraft and panel etc.I have a problem with the AP not maintaining the pitch when the Joystick is released. With Channel B engaged should the AP not maintain the pitch? There seems to be a real trim issue as even when hand flown to alt and then the AP put into ALT HLD the a/c pitches nose down alarmingly and then slowly returns.Any help most appreciated.CheersSteve

If you engage the ALT HLD with more than about 500 fpm VVI you'll see that, as the A/P will correct back to capture the alt it was passing when the switch is thrown. Best to have no more than 2-500 fpm VVI at engagement. Also see FAQ question 10. You need the registered version of FSUIPC with "Fix Control Acceleration" enabled to solve trim sensitivity issues. Also check tht your joystick is calibrated to give a zero reading when centered.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

Thanks for the reply Bob. I have tried all the above. I do have a registered version of FSUIPC and have "Fix control Acceleration" checked. The real issue is that the pitch attitude is not maintained with Channel B engaged. Should the pitch be maintained and if not why not?ThanksSteve

Yes it should, and on 4 different systems here it does...so no idea why not. What version of FSUIPC are you using? Are both the AIL and ELEV axes engaged on the AP (both paddles up)?How have you confirmed that your joystick null zone assures that nonzero inputs are not being sent when the stick is centered?RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

The problem appears to have been the non centering joystick and not enough null around the centre. That coupled with more a more ginger touch on the yoke and she is running sweet. One issue I have noted with the Carousel INS is that there is no updating flag guage. Is this by design? I couldn't find it in the config file. Seems a good place for it would be either below the VSI or below the eng instruments where the blank panel currently is. Would you know what the config entry would be to get the guage at one of those 2 places. What a refreshing change to the FMS machines currently flying around. A real nostalgia blast.

Glad you have the trim issue sorted out.Don't put the INS update gauge below the VSI, as there's an invisible TAT/CG gauge there already.Add a line to the panel.cfg file in the Window00 section...GaugeXX=../Civa/Ins!UpdateFlag,x,y,width,heightwhere XX is the next available gauge numberx is the number of pixels from left of screeny is number of pixels from top of screenwidth is number of pixels wideheight is number of pixels highThe width should be approximately 1.8 times the height.Using a TLAR approximation, gaugeXX=../Civa/Ins!UpdateFlag,970,900,125,70 looks like a good starting point. The CIVA package only includes a dual gauge, so the right flag will be inop.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

I have tried entering the details to the panel config file but no luck. The area I want to put the updating flag is here in the screen shot. Where on the panel would the co-ordinates that you provided place it?sorry I am not familiar with panel design.ThanksStevePanelMedium2-1.jpg

You did replace the XX in the line I suggested with the next available gauge number? i.e. if the last Gauge= line in the Window00 section was Gauge45=..... then you need to make that line read Gauge46=../Civa...etcIt puts it (approximately) in the area you identified.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

Hi I am also having this problem with CWS however I cant seem to solve it via the contral null zone it just doesnt work. The CWS will still trim fully down when I enable it (when I switch the AIL paddle on)I also had another really odd problem everytime I loaded the TM732 the Fuel load would always seem to go back up to 100% even though I set it to for example about 45% in the left and right tank and about 1000lbs in the centre tank in the FS menu before loading FS. When FS loaded I would watch the fuel gauges on the panel just fill back up for no reason. I later solved it by reinstalling the aircraft cfg file. The strange thing is the Tinmouse 732 worked just fine a few weeks ago then I didnt put it to use for a while and starting using other aircraft like the Dash8, PMDG 737, Wilco 737. After 2 weeks I fire up the awesome TM732 only to find that I have this CWS trim problem come out of nowere.Zach
