Spoiler Lever assignment FSUIPC?

Recommended Posts

Guest B727-200Adv

Hi All,I'm trying to assign the spoiler lever to a different lever on my system using FSUIPC. I can't get the new lever to work, as the Speedbrake is already set up under FSUIPC by Tinmouse. Any idea how I can change that to a lever of my own choice??Thanks

I don't think I understand what you're trying to do. With the TinMouse II panel, you can't use a hardware axis mapped directly to the spoilers...it needs to be mapped instead to the Prop Pitch #1 axis, which controls the spoilers indirectly with proper consideration of hydraulic power sources.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

I too am having fits with this, I have a lic version of the latest FSUIPC and use it for my calibration of my CH Yoke and pedals. The spoilers have a mind of their own. And the spoiler handel moves erratic up down and twitches. It does not do this with other aircraft. Now I do have my mixture axis assigned as my spoiler axis in the FS control menu. Neither my prop nor my mix axis have any effect on the spoilers of the TM2.

I'm struggling with this too... I don't have a yoke with a lever, I am trying to use one joy button for down, same button again for up - like '/' does on the keyboard in most aircraft - and another button for arm - like 'SHIFT /'. and I can't get it to work. Also I have two buttons mapped (in F/S, not FSUIPC) to pitch trim up, pitch trim down... in all other aircraft its fine, but in the TM II, it zooms and ballons all over the place! I have a full version of FSUIPC, and have checked the box fix control elevation. What we need is a list of what functions we can map buttons/levers to, and what they do - and do we make the mappings a/c specific or not, and are we mapping to key presses or FS functions? Thanks Bob.DM

>Now I do have my mixture axis assigned as my spoiler axis in>the FS control menu. Neither my prop nor my mix axis have any>effect on the spoilers of the TM2.You have to map the desired hardware axis to PROP PITCH 1 in order to control the spoilers with that lever. In your case, it appears the mixture lever in question needs mapped to PROP PITCH 1 instead of Spoilers. This is explained in the (revised) V1.2 readme file. Also note that the original readme released in V1.2 erroneously stated it should be the PROP PITCH 2 axis.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

I have a full version of FSUIPC, and have>checked the box fix control elevation. The pitch trim issue sounds like control acceleration at work. You need to have FSUIPC's "Fix Control Acceleration" feature active (only works with the registered version of FSUIPC)For button control of the spoilers as you describe, you'll want to map one button to the FSUIPC offset as described in the readme...this serves only to arm/disarm the spoilers. To use a button to deploy/retract them, I'd map two buttons, one for retract, one for deploy. Use FSUIPC to map the button, select "FS Controls" checkbox in the dialog, and select the "Prop Pitch1 Hi" (for spoiler deploy) and "Prop Pitch1 Lo" (for spoiler retract). Even better still, if you instead select "Prop Pitch1 Incr" (extend) and "Prop Pitch1 Decr" (retract) with the "Control to Repeat when held" box checked, you can press and hold the button and it will incrementally move the spoiler lever, allowing for other than full up/down usage. For some reason I can't make this incremental method work with mapped keys (rather than buttons), though.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

Bob thanks much for all your help. This is an amazingly great addon. Much better than my grammar :DI really got hooked on this after watching my ZIP Airlines WAR DVD. It's dead on. Even the way it bounces and bobs around on final.
