Flap selection Problem

Recommended Posts

Guest Tim W

Hi, All of a sudden I am having problems with the flaps. Selecting flaps to t.o. setting after engine start, the flap lever doesnt move and the gauge starts to move to flaps 1 and then immediately back to 0 again with the flap sound working.I have installed all the files and updates from scratch up to the latest update but this doesnt correct the problem.Anyone have any ideas?RegardsTimhttp://members.chello.nl/t.westnutt/realair.gif

Hi Tim,Have you configured your FSUIPC "Buttons and Switches" tab in accordance with pages 2 and 6 of the Version 1.2 Readme? Your problem sounds exactly like mine before I set up the flap switch on my CH yoke using this method. Note that page 2 of the readme gives you the offset codes and parameters for the flaps, while page 6 shows how to enter them into FSUIPC, using the throttle trim setting as an example.Hope this helps.John G.

Make sure your default buttons are not set to the same ones a FSUIPC. Otherwise you will get two commands sent to the game.I have none in my default joystick profile within the game, I use FSUIPC Button = Key command for flaps.

Glad I was of some help, Tim, although I'm stumped as to why you're missing just those two flap settings. It's possible, as alstiff suggests, that you have a key assignment conflict of some kind. Does using F6 and F7 on the keyboard also cause the flaps to miss settings 1 and 10?John G.

Yes.Example:Default FS9 command for flaps down = F7Joystick button A = flaps down in default control assignmentFSUIPC command for flaps down = F7 (via A button press on your joystick thus A = F7 press)So pressing A or your yoke button will result in the game getting TWO flaps down (presses of F7) commands. One via default controls and one via FSUIPC.

A bad side effect of this problem is this....If you own a PFC throttle quadrant like I do, you cannot set flaps using the flaps selector on the quadrant.Stan

I use a PFC quadrant here. You need to use the button programming interface in FSUIPC to assign the flap controls (using offset 6D11 or alternatively to send the F6/F7 keystrokes) to the PFC flap handle. FSUIPC detects the flap switch on the quadrant as a standard joystick button.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile
