Help with flaps and FSUIPC needed.

Recommended Posts

I have a registered version of FSUIPC and I'm a bit confused on how to set up the flaps. I tried assigning F6 and F7 to my flaps up and down switches on my FlightSim Yoke through FSUIPC. I checked aircraft specific for the Tinmouse. The flaps retract properly but extension will not go past 30. I tried removing the assignment in the FS2004 control assignments but still the same.(not sure if using FSUIPC switches dictates the need for removal of the standard FS2004 assignment) Also, I have a Dreamfleet Dakota that the flaps won't function properly since I fooled with some of these changes. The flaps go full down and retract two notches at once when my yoke switch is used. I tried removing the FSUIPC switch assignments and going back to my original button configuration but the Dakota retains the flap problem. I don't know what this offset thing is but I'm suspecting the Tinmouse flap problem may be tied to it. If someone could explain it more clearly I would appreciate any help. Michael

Sounds like maybe the airspeed is too high and the auto-retract is active. Some versions of the -200 (including the 'mouse) have an auto-retract feature that will prevent extension beyond 30 and in fact will retract the flaps from 40 to 30 if your airspeed is too high for full flaps. The best way to program hardware switches is to send the FSUIPC offset commands, rather than programming FSUIPC to emulate keypresses with the switches. No other FS panel uses this control method, so it will not interfere with other add-ons.If you can't seem to delete the assignments, you might want to delete FSUIPC.ini and start over.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

Thanks Bob. I deleted the appropriate lines in FSUIPC.ini and all other aircraft are working fine now. Can I use F6/F7 in FSUIPC for the flaps? This will affect all aircraft unless I make it aircraft specific right? Do I need to delete the FS assignments for flaps? If the offset is best, can you explain step by step how this is selected?Michael

Setting up FSUIPC for offset commands is explained step-by-step, with pictures, in the readme that came with the v1.2 download. The process is the same as for the throttle trim, except using a different value. As I said in the post above, I don't recommend using FSUIPC to emulate the F6/F7 keypress. It has the potential to interfere with other add-ons if not set up right (i.e. with aircraft specific selected), and the keypress emulation doesn't always behave well, at least for me.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

Thanks for the help Bob. Got it working well now. The "mouse" is the only airliner I fly. Great job. Michael
