transponder code

Recommended Posts

HiDoes anybody know how to read the transponder code? The SDK says to use the units Bco16. I don't even know what that means. Here's what I have:SimConnect_AddToDataDefinition(hSimConnect, DEF_TRANSPONDER, "TRANSPONDER CODE:1", "Bco16");double transponder;double nav;double com; Then I make a request for the transponder, along with comms and navs. Comms and Navs work fine, but I can't figure out how to interpret the transponder. Using "Bco16" for units returns 0 everytime.Has anybody else read the transponder yet? What the heck is Bco16?Thanks

>Has anybody else read the transponder yet? What the heck is>Bco16?I'm not sure whether SimConnect is case-sensitive or not, but I use "BCO16". It means "Binary Coded Octal in 16 bits". Are you checking to see if you get an exception? If you are not processing exceptions, check the SimConnect Log.The transponder code is 4 octal digits (i.e. each is 0-7, not 0-9 as in decimal or 0-F as in hexadecimal). If you read it as a 16 or 32 bit value you will get, for example:1200 transpoder = 0x1200 in BCO16, shown in decimal3456 = 0x3456.and so on.RegardsPete

hmmm. I'm not getting any exceptions. Any reason why BCO16 might return 0 for me? Should I be using another type to store the returned value other than "double transponder;"?Thanks again
