Payload Recovery: Top Secret Satellite Recovery Badge

Featured Replies

Hi folks, did anyone get the Top Secret Satellite Recovery Badge in the Payload Recovery Mission? I got the payload to the carrier in time, but "all" I got was the "Expeditious Service Medal". According to http://www.simtours.net/rewards.php?flight...tion&type=medal there is also a badge for "retrieving the satellite in Mission: Payload Recovery". Any hints as to how to get that badge?Tia,Robin <>

I'm not entirely certain, but I'm quite convinced that the pictured badge is from the beta version and was replaced by the "Expeditious Service Medal" before shipping...This is based on the fact that satelites generally burn up on reentry and are generally unrecoverable making the original mission highly implausible. Recovering a payload is a comparatively normal procedure on the other hand.

No and am so )))-: about that after I saw the badge (I mean I set it down on the carrier; I even have a pic after just, ehem, gently placing it on the flight deck)....Hmmm... am wondering now if there was something else that had to be done like landing on the carrier... Not sure if I did that.Rob O.

That was quick!Anyway, check the edit of my first response. There is no satelite in the mission, just the satelite payload, so there is nothing you could have done differently. I reflew the mission myself just to check, and any outcome other than placing the payload on the carrier deck will fail the mission.

>That was quick!Oh no no... that was from "memory"...Yes it was a relatively long mission with very little to do enroute but keep the shiny side up (not a complaint btw). And thanks for the info. :-)Rob O.
