Crash and re-boots when loading up FSX/FS2004 aircraft

On the menu/preview screen in free flight, just before pressing "fly now", black lines appear on the aircraft and then the whole computer re-boots.I can't believe the only aircraft I can fly on FSX is default a/c, what rubbish.
