ctd with menus

Recommended Posts

Guest uncyden

just installed sp2 and would like to register that on a nvidia 7950gt I am also getting ctd on drop down menus. When I started troubleshooting I realised that some of the posts I was reading were close to 12months old. To #### with it. Ive uninstalled sp2 and will wait to see if a permanent fix (apart from window mode) ever happens....cheers

SP2 doesn't really add much to FSX so not installing it is okay. You're losing nothing unless you have Vista and DX10 installed. Most people appear to be staying with SP1. There are several people like myself who have installed SP2 and have never ever experienced the drop down menu CTD with FSX. IMHO, the "permanent fix" is to lower your FSX sliders and allow your video card and CPU some room to breathe. I have an very high powered computer system and I cannot max out my sliders in FSX without encountering a problem. I can almost guarantee you that the future version of MSFS will likely have the exact same problem. It happened to me in FS9 until I realized I had my settings set too high and my ATI drivers were not completely installed or not installed properly (I now own the NVIDIA 8800 GTX's). Ciao,Jim
