Building new pc

I've decided to build a new pc. This being my first one, I'm feeling very confident in myself having read tutorials and the great documentation of today's hardware and the knowledge learned from upgrading my current pc. Here are the tentitive specs:-478pin Pentium 2.4Ghz 533Mhz FSB-Abit SR7-8X motherboard (fully supports 8X AGP)-512MB DDR266 (PC2100)Ram-80-100GB Hard Drive (preferably western digital or seagate)-128MB DDR ATI Radeon 9500 PRO 8X AGP-500-600 Watt Powersupply-server case (w/window) with 4 (80mm) fans (2 rear[exhaust] and 2 front[intake])-creative audigy gamer soundcard-win xp-dvd-rom-3.5 inch floppy (duh)-19 inch CRT monitor-speakers undecided (would like a 5.1 setup but I don't have anywhere to place the 2 rear speakers. Will be using my current 3 piece altec lansing set unitl I find a differnt set.)

Sounds good so far i would go on a faster ram then that if your gameing, good luck :)i have good luck with western digtel drivers i had a few problems with one and they replaced it asap.p.s this is the best ram you can get but it is expesnive http://www.corsairmicro.com or try www.googlegear.com

Bring that PSU back down to Earth a little! 430W would be ample.

Dan,I also agree your choices over all are pretty good. Your choice of power supply is just a bit high in the 600 watt size, so I suggest not less than 430-450 watt, and the 500 watt size would be perfect, that way you have provided for some additional hardware growth to your system. I would encourage you to avoid the Western Digital hard drive. They are amoung the highest failure rate drives produced and hated by professional drive recovery experts. I have built many computers and learned my lesson by having over 80% Western Digital hard drives replaced due to failure. Maxtor or Fujitsu Hard drives have a better service life.Also, my opinion on Monitors. Protect your eyes with a better investment in quality, like .22 dot pitch Hitachi monitors. Better quality and less expense over all.
