BEST freeware Virtual Cockpit?

Recommended Posts

I want to know what in your opinion has the best freeware virtual cockpit?I came across the TBM in the library, what has a nice cockpit but a bad flightmodel, and slow updates on the gauges. Also, found the best freeware jet around, with a VC, Maltby's BAC1-11. Its just awesome. Is there more I ask myself, and of course you..JohanA LITTLE LESS CONVERSATION, AND A LITTLE MORE ACTION PLEASE

I can think of one. The Beech 18 package is awesome. The same developer has a few other planes. They are all very popular in general. I would sort the FS2004 - Original Aircraft libery listings by download and spend some time going through the list.

Yes that's what I was talking about. Thanks for the link. Just a thought, if you started with the BAC 1-11 and its standards you won't find many freeware planes that can quite live up to it really.

I forgot about these gems. I just reinstalled the 111-200 and took it for a short hop KPDX-KSEA. What a nice add on. Thanks for posting this topic Johan. The updated model made improvements since I last used it on my old rig last year. I think the Trident is next. Gotta check out the HS748 too.

Anything by Milton Shupe--he is the grandest of all masters. His Howard 500 is a bloody miracle, but he has others as well like the Aero Commander and the D-18.David Maltby's BAC 1-11 is also stupendous and thrilling. Maltby's work on British jets generally is fantastic. I know because I flew on 'em all a lot in their time!JS

My favorite? Bill and Lynn Lyons Piper Tri-Pacer.'Best' is so subjective. Since I don't fly the 'big iron' aircraft...well...
